Cheers matey, i have to agree i prefer it over the wrx spoiler - maybe just because its something different!

Not sure if i'll keep it like that forever or not. I'm considering the one in this thread if i change my mind:
http://bbs.scoobynet.com/859457-adju...spoiler-2.html

Although i'd probably have the blade carbon wrapped.

Anger 10-01-2011 11:10 PM

Only time i noticed a difference on the RA was braking from 120mph plus

jura11 10-01-2011 11:33 PM

Great chronology and development of your car.:10:

Bit of an update.... now have a second bumper (thanks to Jura) with side spats and diffuser to go on :D

If anyones fancies giving me a hand over the weekend fitting the bumper, it'd be handy as its a two man job to get it lined up. I can supply tea and biscuits as a reward!

Longer term, not sure if the spoilerless look will stay or not..... indecisive as always! ;)

Thanks for the offer Tim, but the weather was so nice today i decided to have a go on my own. Didn't prove too difficult, even for a numpty like me :D

Masked up the rear quarters above the bumper ends just in case i slipped, trying to line up both sides when you're only holding the middle is a challenge!

Will get some pics in a bit :)

Steve_PPP 19-03-2011 06:48 PM

Mortster 19-03-2011 09:15 PM

Love it Steve

Theres a Blue spoiler on SN for 200, cant work out if its real or not from the photo though...

Steve_PPP 19-03-2011 10:29 PM

Car looks a bit higher than normal in those pics but i think its cos it wasn't on the flat - half on, half off the road.

Jura

Scott.T 19-03-2011 10:58 PM

Looking good.
Are the rear clusters like the Classic i.e use loads of black gunge to seal them ?
If so I hope u used some when re-fitted

No black gunge at all, just a foam type seal thats compressed between the bodywork and light unit. :)

ralliart didz 20-03-2011 12:29 AM

well i think your cars wicked steve with the mods you have done on it

i think you should save up and get a big spoiler+boot as a spare then you can give it a change now and then.

as for telling if a spoiler is real or a copy. look at the brake lite,at each end the real ones have wot looks like a bullet tip on the end of the brake lite. copys dont. i not 100%

i wish i had a turbo

Nige 20-03-2011 06:30 AM

Nice one Steve :yeah:

Lucky 20-03-2011 08:58 AM

Looks fantastic steve. I love what you have done to yours as its now unique and you wont see another like it. It prob only looks high at the back because they seem to take a while to settle after being jacked up too. :worthy:

jura11 23-03-2011 07:42 AM

Hi Steve here is idea how will look if you get your car more lowered

cheers mate. that looks the business but can't justify swapping out for coilovers yet really, suspension on it is all pretty new.

blobeye rear lights do help too, still keeping an eye out for a bargain set on ebay. :)

Not replied before as to be honest I wasn't sure on how the new bumper suited the car:-|

Kept popping in to have a look though and the more I look at it, the more i'm liking it:nod:

Does sit well spoilerless too:ok: If you opt to go back for the spoiler look, how about the S202, 03, 04 spoilers? think one of them would go well:ok:

The torque drifts look good on the piccie Jura posted up:cool: maybe worth consideration Steve?

Has to rank as one of the nicest bugs on the road mate:five:

Steve_PPP 23-03-2011 10:12 AM

Cheers Ron.

Everyone has different tastes and i've got no problems with some people saying it doesn't look right etc. A lot of people say the spoilerless doesn't work without it being slammed with wide wheels, but hey ho.

One of the S202/3 spoilers might be cool. Wouldn't want to spend a load on one to change my mind though!

Best way to be:ok: Think its always difficult when you mod something thats a good example anyway:nod: people see it for what it was and its that toss up between excellent clean example or modded clean example!

I think I would have been the same if it was my car, not sure if I liked it before or after:-| more often than not its the mods that your not sure about after fitment that turn out to be the best ones further down the line:ok:

Spoiler wise, how about trying one of those BMW lips on the rear?

Anger 23-03-2011 11:18 AM

We can always stick mine on without bolting to see how it looks

ralliart didz 23-03-2011 12:21 PM

SpecB 23-03-2011 01:37 PM

Cheers James, might take you up on that at some point. I'll have a think.

Its got a couple of bolts on each end that go through the bumper, and i assume some trim tape/adhesive has also been used. It also has brackets that fit through the main bumper bolt mounts - its not coming off in a hurry!

Steve_PPP 26-05-2011 05:36 PM

Time for a bit of an update i think.

Did an evening session at Brands which went well, apart from melting a set of brand new Bluestuff NDX's (yes, the copper in them melts at 1100c, so a bit toasty).

Top marks to EBC who got involved with a thread on scoobynet, and they've sent me a replacement set of NDX's to try, as well as a set of yellows (for free). Seems there are issues with the pad on WRX 4 pots and EBC wanted people to try options and give feedback. Anyway, brake fluid change this morning was the final step before being ready for the Ring this weekend (cheers to Brent @ SMD for fitting me in, rather last minute!).

Some photos from Brands:

Other recent changes - i've sold the despoilered bootlid and currently gone back to the WRX one. Hopefully this won't be staying too long as I have a little project to work on.

Also picked up a set of blobeye lights :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...T/100_7041.jpghttp://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...p/Img_6178.jpg

Really like how they look, make the back of the car look much newer, especially with the new bumper/diffuser.

Roll on Germany!!

Anger 26-05-2011 06:10 PM

I noticed the blob lights at the weekend and thought there new :)
