some interesting stuff in there, guess we'll have to wait and see.

might have a look on t'internets to see what satellite stuff there is online about the shift in the gulf stream. old wheels might go back on the scoob again this winter then :)

Moley_WRX 20-09-2011 11:26 PM

Might be time to get a cheap 4x4

Steve_PPP 21-09-2011 01:59 PM

simba 21-09-2011 03:46 PM

maybe it will be just ooop north !! we are supposed to be in the barmey south !

wonkey85 21-09-2011 05:25 PM

Quick question? I've never own a scoob during the winter and wondered how the perform in the snow/ice. Being 4x4 I hope there better then normal cars. Last year I had to buy snow chains just so that I can still get about. Do you reckon I'll need to get more for te scoob this year??

chris wrx 21-09-2011 06:11 PM

Scoobs are great in the snow and ice, but tend to do a lot of snow ploughing if a bit deep. :-?

wonkey85 21-09-2011 08:48 PM

Sounds like alo of fun. Buy what are the chances of me getting stuck?

Never got stuck last year, I do have adjustable diff though

wonkey85 21-09-2011 09:47 PM

In that case I look forward to it :)

Steve_PPP 21-09-2011 10:33 PM

i've got the scoob stuck :D but then did go for a play in a car park and found a bit that was deep enough to foul the doors when i tried to get out!

Always handy to carry a spade around if theres a lot of snow  but yeah, generally good traction, but won't corner or stop any better than any other car. Subaru ABS is sodding awful as well, press the brake on ice and nothing happens apart from a load of ABS noise.

I drove all over the place last year... didnt hardly see any cars on most of the roads, was ok aslong as i was off boost

The day we had the epic snow fall last year ( or was it this year? ) It took me 6 hours+ to get from Lewisham to Tunbridge Wells, just 40miles.

I was passing all the rich business men type in the smart BMs and Merc...all stuck!

Stuffed mine into the pavement 1 minute from home on an icy turn at almost zero speed :(

All I could do was watch the kerb come towards me and prepare for the bang...
Result - one new alloy, and suspension damage.

lol at the snowplough comment - could'nt agree more, front splitters are handy snowploughs, and yes the ABS is sh*t.

My van managed to dig its self in getting off the drive the snow was that deep, scoob never had a problem though :-)

buzz 28-09-2011 06:14 PM

scoobs are great in the snow off boost,

but the sport is even better,

i left my wrx on the drive and knicked the miss sport, makes a good snow plough and you dont have to worry about a turbo kicking in mid slide with oposite lock on

i even started to get that confident i was parking at whicks doing a 180 slide straight into spaces,

was even asked to go and pick up people who were walking to work in the snow, funny how some deciced to walk home though, not everyone likes sideways action
