Error Code 22 and 23

Hello there,

So, put a battery in the Subaru and fired it up, started fine, tick over was normal, let it come up to temp then I went down the drive to move the car out so I could wash it, parked it up, gave it a clean in and out. Went to move it back and the check engine light came on. Error 22 and 23 (air flow and knock)

Hope it's just upset about being left for 6 months or some water has worked its way in the big hole in the bonnet...

Disconnected the batter when I left so the ECU should be reset, I'll try again tomorrow but it's MOT time first thing!

If it still there, am I okay to drive it off boost to the MOT and back? Will revving it for the emission test annoy it or cause it to run rich?

Just found out that the knock sensor fault is likely to be your maf sensor. If the maf sensor is faulty then it detonates the knock sensor fault too. So just repair or replace the maf sensor and should all be alright.

Hope this helps

Try hcs. (Hove car spares) along the seafront

Started up fine today, no check engine light and it passed the MOT! All good in da hood. Except it's running really rich, stinks of fuel and used over half a tank for 100 miles.

half a tank on a sti v2 is about the norm.I own exactly the same model and get about 220 from a tank driving reasonably sensibly. Also the knock sensor on mine was intermittent, found it had a hairline crack on it.Easy job to swap as its sits under the intercooler ,will need intercooler removing to replace it.

I've got an FMIC so might be even easier :)

Thanks mate.

Might take it to one of the specialists this week just for a quick look over, check the AFR etc to make sure it's good to boot! Not put my foot down yet.
