New to the car "showing" help/advice :)

Hi,
As the title suggests im new to the idea of showing etc and im a pure novice ! :(
Does anyone know where i can start to make my bugeye a show car :)
A few starters would be much appreciated thank you
:) :-p
(and sadly i dont have lots of money to pump into it, but a shine etc would go well :) )

Thanks for reading !
Em

lots can be done for not a lot of money! since i started on my bugeye over 2 years ago, i reckon i've spent less than £1500 on mods, and £600 of that was the alloy wheels/tyres.

mine started like this:

and it currently looks like this: (although normally with gunmetal 18"'s alloys)

The cheapest and best mod i think i've done on mine had to be the twisted STI sideskirts off a blobeye, completely changes how the car looks compared to the grey plastic ones :)

actually, looking at your pic from the other thread, black alloys and black flaps would look cool :ok:

www.cleanyourcar.co.uk are great and stuff arrives next day.

You can't go wrong with Meguiars, Poor Boys or Chemical Guy's stuff.

DAS-6 DA polisher complete with sonus kit, enhancer, swirl remover, final finish, pads for each, 2 detail brushes, 1 alloy wheel brush, 5 litres Glaze, 5 litres Bilberry wheel cleaner, 5 rolls blue tape, set of micro fibre towels, Gold Class shampoo and an air freshener

Spent a day on my neighbours car and the results are fantastic :polish: highly recommend the products.

All the gear and willing to do others.... When can we pop round???

If money is an issue, you could always concentrate more on keeping the car in tip top condition instead of adding mods:nod:

Good quality car wash
Clay Bar and spray
Cleaner
Enhancer
Polish
Glaze
Sealer
quick detailer

Glass polish
Trim / tyre finish
wheel cleaner and wax

Perhaps go for a set combined with a DA Polisher?

The initial spend goes along way and a standard looking clean car can command huge respect in its own right:nod:

Have a look at clean your car

The good thing with cleaning is its mainly your own time so not huge expense.:five:

Did you get any pics of the detail mate?

As MrX said If you get a few decent clean products and keep it looking in show condition then itll look stunning even as standard

Parts, ordered and paid for. Have been told they will arrive after the Bank holiday:doubledown::doubledown::waiting:
Just got to fit them and then go for another MOT:doh:

R2 does always look good from a distance but parked where I do at work, I regularly find it covered in a fine layer of dust.:-?

AndyWRX 22-05-2010 04:22 PM

most of the dust is probably from watercolours and off their lorries, nothing you can do bout that really till theyve finished it :-(
