Newage UK STI front disc recommendations

Picked up the car yesterday, and rather frustratingly notice the car is suffering badly from break shudder. I'm not sure of the make but the front already has cross drilled, grooved vented disks and are like new. But would appear they were more show than go, and have warped very quickly.

Anyone, work in a machine shop and able to skim them flat again ?.

If not whats your recommendations (links/price) for replacement for just fast road use. I'm on a budget but don't want them warping like these ones the first time I lean the breaks ?

Cheers
Rob

JUDDER you not kidding.....last time i felt judder like that was when the cossie brakes had been binding for 100 miles and I came down a slip road....off the M25

I use EBC, but have a word with Alyn as ASP Performance. http://www.asptrading.co.uk or http://www.camskill.co.uk

Going to contact the dealer I bought car from. I reckon I can get him to sort/pay for it. I've only had it one day, and highlighted on the test drive with light breaking that I tought the disks were warped.

If he offers to Pay then Tone is likey to get some business

These ain't bad. Looks better than allot of the cross drilled vented stuff i've been looking at for circa £260

http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php? ... 2686p30247

I thought mine were bigger than 326mm though?

326mm is STi/gold Brembo size.

Don't go for cross-drilled as it weakens the disk.
The EBC are 'dimpled' so look cross drilled but is just a small dimple.

Fortunately the dealer has put his hand up and got me another set of new disks FOC, and would have fitted them as well, but will do the fit myself as it would have meant 6 hours driving backwards and fowards to dealer. I would sooner spend a hour or 2 of my time and do the job myself.

Dead easy job Rob, takes longer to get the car off the ground and the wheels off....
Hardest bit is trying not to scratch the Gold Brembo's and they balance/hang free, while putting the new dick on the hub.

LOL... that'll be one that got through the swear filter

Just spend 3 hours doing a round trip to pick up disks myslelf only to get home and see they are the wrong size and way too small approx 295mm. Not a happy bunny.!

How difficult can it be to order the right disks  I even told him in one of my emails they were 326mm disks.

lol - Spoke to the dealer earlier and he couldn't be apologetic enough. Don't help me much but needless to say he said he would sort and arrange delivery to me this time and collect the old ones. I think he will have a shock when he goes to order them and finds out how much these puppies are going to cost. :D

I just spent all day doing my decat and took longer than I thought, so wouldn't have had chance to do the disks anyway which makes me feel a little better.. Decats looking good now - The biggest bitch was taking the heatshield off, and then getting back on after modding it.

Camskill do the STi 326mm for £99, but don't tell them that.
Tell them you want OE Quality or like for like (as yours were uprated).
Something like pukka Brembo's http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brembo-Sport-Fron ... 240%3A1318

Sent him a link to:

Not too bothered about grooved on drilled TBH, they look great, but are noisey and don't intend to be doing track days. So 326mm solids disks on brembo's is more than enough for even the most heavy use.

Re: Newage UK STI front disc recommendations

Double result

Got the new disks today. But after driving the car home tonight I suddenly thought to myself I can't say I have noticed break shudder recently. So jumped on the breaks at lowish speeds and nothing  So took it out earlier and pushined the breaks to the point ABS was thumping in and felt the very slightest shudder but absoluting nothing like the violent shudder previously felt. :D

The disks on the car a like new drilled, grooved affairs and always felt it a bid odd they warped so soon. But now beginning to think it had new disks very recently fitted on old pads and just hadn't bedded in yet, and not warped at all.

Duno.! but looks like the ones i have are now fine and I have some nice OEM plain disks for a rainy day. :yeah:
