Sti 05 Suspension

Didn't want to hijack mrchips thread but a similar request..

Rear strut has started to make a knocking at just over 10k on the clock I hear some have done it at around 6k.

I was already thinking of fitting the Prodrive springs to bring the front down by 25mm but since the knocking I may well uprate all four corners.

Tien have been suggested to others on different forums and that it was cheaper to fit a full set of those than OEM parts but also that coilovers are a little firm.
I will only be using it for road use so don't want to loose any fillings.

Any ideas you can give me before I decide to buy would be appreciated.

Don't know if principles affecting classics are the same for new age, but standard shocks with Eibach sport springs were the recommended compromise for me, allowing the lowering of the car with better cornering feel, but retaining most of the OEM ride characteristics.

Coilovers probably too much of a compromise on a daily driver.

Cheers Keith

Had a good look today and everything was tight, it appears that a good jet washing then leaving it to sit for 3 weeks was the cause of my issues(It's been raining a lot you know). Put a small amount of lube on the struts and took it out for a run, no noise or settling down after coming to a stand still. So will keep an eye out for trouble and hope thats all it was. :)
