Hi People

Just thought i would say hi, have been a member of scoobynet for quite a few years now and thought i would join up with the local community of scoob fans. I am on my 3rd Subaru now, having owned a bugeye wagon, blobeye saloon, now a hawkeye GB270, for the last four months. Have already upgraded front brakes from stock to AP 6 pots with bigger discs now saving up for next mod whatever that maybe. So thats me hope its as friendly and helpful on here as it is on snet:ok:

Welcome

Sometimes see a GB270 around the burgess hill area, not you is it?

GB270 J 22-08-2012 09:23 PM

Steve_PPP 22-08-2012 09:32 PM

number 177, have only seen one other and that was b4 i got mine how about you?:p

GB270Adam 25-08-2012 11:46 AM

I've seen 3 others so far, mine is number 11 was really surprised to get such a low number when I went to view it.

Is it just the brakes you have done so far mate?

GB270 J 25-08-2012 01:46 PM

Yeah thats all. Am in two minds about upping the power. Thought it might be easy but hearing other people having to change turbos and intercoolers seems like too much hassle:-| Do you much about re-mapping and what the gains would be on our sort of car? Had thought about doing exhaust to try and get some of that burble back that i used to have on my 05 subaru, b ut again so many exhausts dont know where to start:brickwall:, have u done anything?

GB270Adam 25-08-2012 05:12 PM

Mapping wise it depends who ask, been told that you can get up 290bhp/340ft lbs on just a re-map alone, most of the guys here (who have far more knowledge than I do) will be able to tell you more.

I had some suspension work done a couple of months back, sh!t load of bushes, sti front control arms, sti rear anti-roll bar, front anti-lift kit etc, gives you quite a lot of fed back through the wheel, had the back end try and break away from me when I had to jump on the brakes after having the work done and could feel exactly what the rear was trying to do, just still too much body roll for my liking so will look at the whiteline anti-roll bars at some point.

I bought a 2nd hand Kakimoto exhaust on wednesday from Jap Performance Parts in Crawley, not much louder than the Prodrive system, although going through a tunnel you can hear the differece  I'd say pop up there and have a look at what they have mate, your welcome to have a listen to mine sometime so you can judge for yourself.

GB270 J 25-08-2012 05:40 PM

Wow thats alot more than i would prob ever do lol.Exhaust wise i dont really want a loud one just want that burble note back which has been lost, so may pay them a visit. Do they fit them there as well?

GB270Adam 25-08-2012 06:19 PM

I asked them the same question while I was there and to quote the guy I spoke to ''not really, because our ramp is always in use''.

I took mine about 2 miles up the road to Austec, really nice bunch of guys there who fitted my exhaust pretty much then and there and for £45 which I thought wasn't bad at all.

Like I said mate your welcome to have a listen to mine to give you an idea of what you want :ok:
