The evo is dead

After long negotiations-with an insurance company that actually listens I'm letting the EVO go  I've never been in a car that handles the way that did & with 550bhp it wasn't to shabby on the straights eighther. Some of you will be glad it's gone as its not a Scoob. 3years work & £30 k went into this car. The ins engineer could see the value & priced it about right.

Now then what to buy next?

Scooby_Greg 19-06-2012 05:49 PM

Gutted for you, Nige. :(:(:( I do hope you'll find a car that you will love at least as much as you loved your EVO if not more. Wishing you all the best of luck for your search.

ScoobySi 20-06-2012 12:11 PM

Sad to hear this mate, that was a very nice looking car in the flesh. Looking foward to see what you pull out of the box next though.

Lucky 20-06-2012 12:33 PM

Thats a shame nige, it was a stonking car that quite honestly was on a different level, I will never forget the trip to germany in 2010 on those roads to dover, brutal overtaking!. Good luck with whatever is next.

andy-m 20-06-2012 12:56 PM

well at least you're happy with the evaluation the insurance engineer made as that could have been a big issue if he had not !

chris wrx 21-06-2012 06:14 PM

I'm sure the next one will be just as mental....

That's how a great car is meant to go (with a dizzy git behind the wheel)
Some might know I had the diff controller mapped by one of the guys over on the dark side. The map was bespoke to my driving style & allowed for stupid corner speeds. it even helped with the brakes. I had three settings one for Brands one for the Nubugring & another set for rear end bias.
When in brands mode with the suspension set up correctly & 888's all warmed up the bloody thing was amassing. More like a go kart on turn in than a car.
Now people will ask "how the hell did you crash it then" I've only ever driven this car really with 888's on & I decided to try another well known brand. My own fault I didn't give them time to warm up. I also just changed my arb setting to hardest. Not thinking I was pushing on really & the combination of the above didn't help. I was so surprised it moved let alone going sideways towards a tree. Anyway onwards & I don't know about upwards as yet. Im looking though.
