possible wheel bearing

Hi chaps.

Have a possible wheel bearing failure....... didnt feel any movement when i lifted the wheel but i know you dont always feel play on them when they have gone.
symptons- noise sounds like a cross between something stuck on the tyre as it makes the noise every revolution and a chinook at a distance lol.
no rattle or other noise but it does speed up with the car.

I am hoping its not a diff issue.......
If it is a wheel bearing whats the likely cost for a replacement part and also fitting, i dont have a press or anything like that and dont want to hammer it in lol.
Any particular one that recommended or stick with genuine parts?
thanks
