TRS Brands Hatch Rally 30/01/2011

Looks like this is definately happening now, so I thought I'd give it a thread! Oh, and apologies if this doesn't belong here, but the Tempest was posted in this section, so I thought I'd put this in the same area of the forum. :)

Anyway, without further ado...

Sunday 30th January 2011 will be the first running of the TRS Brands Hatch Rally. Its going to be an all tarmac rally using the Indy circuit and the surrounding access roads. The official site with more details can be found by clicking here:

http://brandshatchstages.co.uk/

At the moment they have a good mix of cars lined up and more cars then slots, so there should be a full field of 80 cars. Current entry list can be found by clicking here:

http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/Entry/TRSBHS11/EntryList.php

Oh, and the best bit of all; its free to spectators!

Looks to be a handful of us going from Surrey as well, so perhaps a meet at Clacketts and cruise round the M25 together if anyone fancies it?

Steve_PPP 11-01-2011 01:15 PM

yeah, that would suit me :)

Scott.T 16-01-2011 10:20 PM

Have sent organisers email to see if they want us to attend as a club and set aside an area for a stand etc.....

Tbh i doubt there'll be any trade stands, or any car clubs 'showing' there. This is a club level rally and all about the competitors (i'd actually be surprised if more than a couple of hundred spectators turn up!).

Its the first time the event has been at Brands in 20 years - so no idea where we'll be able to watch from, how easy it is to move between the stages (walking round the back of the circuit etc might be necessary to get from one to the other) - if we're even told the information of where will be running when.

Just basing my opinions on the experiences i've had at similarly sized club rallies (at Goodwood etc) - don't want to sell this to anyone coming as a 'big' event. There won't be much to see other than the rallying itself - but then it is free!

If you want a bigger rallying event, come to Sunseeker two weeks later! :ok:

tbtstt 17-01-2011 09:16 AM

I think Steve_PPP has hit the nail on the head. As I understand it this event is running with limited marshalls and I daresay there will be very few of the circuit facilities open - hence why its free.

The entry list looks excellent though. Scoobs, Darians, 6R4 and an Aston Martin as well.

scooby doo 17-01-2011 09:33 AM

i shall be going for sure,

I agree and wasn't expecting anything more then has been described.
It was just a thought to help them aswell as us i.e parked closer etc.....

I doubt they will get back and if they do they will probably say no due to lack of liability insurance etc.....

We have very little room for Displays in the main part of Brands, but you are willing to bring cars/display and put them on the South Bank where the Spectators will be.

Competitor guide has just appeared on the internet here:

http://brandshatchstages.co.uk/sites..._Bulletin1.pdf

Scroll down to page 4 - its not a brilliant map, but at least it gives a rough idea as to where the service area and the like is going to be.

tbtstt 20-01-2011 05:32 PM

Sorry for the double post. But full stage maps are now up:

Double post away, thats useful stuff

That would be cool

Some of the high speed sections on the circuit will be entertaining (drifting through Druids?) but rallyings all about the loose stuff!

tbtstt 21-01-2011 09:21 AM

Cheers to C.J for the lift

Scott.T 30-01-2011 07:39 PM

Soz for not making it today, been away on business 3 weeks on the trot and was in Italy this week on Business yet again.

good day out, was chuffing freezing but at least it stayed dry. the scoobs did look slow all day :( no real benefits of 4wd on the tarmac and the mk2 escorts were so much quicker.

the aston sounded cool as well :ok:

Crowman 31-01-2011 09:02 AM
