Ah cool, flies over my gaff on the way and way back, I'll have my camera ready.

Scott.T 30-05-2013 05:57 PM

Indeed, it was in the local paper last week. Looking forward to it, just a shame it can't bomb the pier.

Steve_PPP 30-05-2013 06:56 PM

Cool, might pop over if I'm free. Otherwise I hope to go to Shoreham again in September (assuming the Vulcan displays there again....)

Banstead Stig 30-05-2013 08:18 PM

Nice one.

I didn't see it at all last year, so keen to remedy that this summer!

Krade 30-05-2013 11:35 PM

Awsome plane and Awsome noise, feel privileged to have climbed around inside one when I was in the air cadets many many moons ago :)

How is that geeky Sim??????

Where's the best place to view Scott?

Going to see it at Manston the following weekend as well, where it is landing/taking off as well as displaying!! That's an awesome experience as well if you haven't seen it! :-P

simba 31-05-2013 07:46 AM

It's the last year for flying I think as money running out to keep it in the air

Either the East Hill or West Hill (by the castle).
Park in the main town car park and walk up through Wellington square.

I was up on the East Hill when the Red Arrows came last summer and got a great view.

Excellent too Sim. We were here on the front, so this was the closest shot I could get of Beachy Head

Another special moment at Eastbourne!

Nice pics.

It really is an amazing sight.

Scott.T 14-06-2013 10:19 AM

Reminder. ...Please donate what you can to keep her flying.

For anyone coming down to the seafront the best ice creams are from the crazy golf kiosk and the best fish and chips are from the blue dolphin.
If you just want a cake or sausage roll then judges bakery up the high street in the old town opposite the Church.
I will be up by the castle from around 3pm.

No way, Di Polas has amazing ice creams, not the cheapest but by god they're good.

I'll be down there somewhere giving the new camera it's first airing. Fingers crossed for the weather.

I agree, but I was thinking more of your traditional '99 with flake' as they give a good thick serving rather then the small runny ones from the Mr Whippy Red van's.

The big bird is also displaying in Rye at 4:00pm.
I'm not sure what to do now.....if you go upto Fairlight you would get 2 displays !!!!!! one to the west and one to the east..........

Oh! I so want to be in 2 places....A scoob is quick but not sure it can race a Vulcan to Rye once the display finishes in Hastings.....

midlife2 14-06-2013 09:52 PM

Would love to see the plane but ill be busy watching England beet Australia at rugby

Decided to go 'Up The Castle' (or on the perimeter of) with Big "E" if anyone else wants to come and find us.

If you wish I will pay the admission charge and watch from inside the castle..

Which means you can see best part of the sea front.

SUBARMAN 15-06-2013 11:35 AM

Found this quote on the VTTS forum.

"She will be flying between the Harbour and Pier at Hastings!

A RNLI friend who's manning the inshore Boat for the event reliably informs me!"

I assume by harbour he means the fishing boats.

Will look out for you Boys!!

Thanks for the offer "E" but I want to try and grab a picture of her over the old town fishing hut's/boats not over the new town with the crappy money pit of a pier in the background.........now if it were bombing the pier that would be a nice photo !!!!!

The view last year for the Red Arrows was spot on from the west hill as they flew in down The Bourne.

I expect the Vulcan will come in under the cliff line from the east.....

Cheers for the update too Keith....

BIG"E" 15-06-2013 04:56 PM

Well what a display!!!

:10: to the pilot in what must have been very difficult flying conditions..

Agree, I'm a little surprised it displayed and doing the 'Wing-Over' manoeuvre in those conditions must of been on the limit with 45 mph gusting. It was hard enough to stand up on the cliff-top and made for very tricky conditions for photography.

Photo's are uploading and will pop them up in a mo'.

Nice pictures, yours or Oliver's ?

Banstead Stig 15-06-2013 07:04 PM

Excellent.

Glad it was clear. Peed it down on and off here today.

SUBARMAN 15-06-2013 08:14 PM

Great pics! Some more in "General Pics"

The revised display for 2013, including the new spiral climb, was excellent. Lots more power noise!!! Kev Rumens (pilot) produced a fabbo display as Scott says, in difficult conditions indeed! Having seen that display today, now very much looking fwd to next saturday at Manston :ok:

Used to see this fly at Newbury air show many years ago. Always had a soft spot for this.

Fantastic pictures there.

Steve_PPP 16-06-2013 09:23 AM

Nice photos Scott  although if it was as windy as it was over here i'm glad i wasn't on a cliff top!

Now showing as displaying at Shoreham on Sunday 1st Sept so will hopefully see it there :)
