FP Green HTA Turbo

Does anyone know anything about these turbos?

Are they any good?

Nige 13-10-2010 07:56 PM

Yes i have one on the Evo mate & are very good. :drive:

Anger 13-10-2010 08:25 PM

Check SN and the amount that fail on Scoobs is very high

Nige 13-10-2010 08:38 PM

Yes the early none HTA had a bad rep. Sorted now though I hope.

Anger 13-10-2010 08:45 PM

one was new and only lasted 1 week at high boost ;)

Threads a month or so old Nige

Not sure then mate. They have been no reports on the Mlr about failed Hta greens. :?: The green was recomended to me for the stock like spool & so far has been good. At the mo i only run mine at 1.5 bar so it's not really working hard. Once the exhaust is sorted then up she goes

Scott.T 13-10-2010 09:34 PM

I have also read alot have failed but was a while ago. Shafts snapping and stuff.
lots of info on NASIOC

Anger 13-10-2010 09:50 PM

Anything above 1.8 bar and they fail from the threads ive read

Tyler i'd stick to the MD range... 4 of them and ive never had a problem, running boost from 1.6-2.0 bar

Nige 13-10-2010 09:59 PM

Stop it! Your worrying me now. Not one report on the Mlr about failed HTA greens & some are running them at 2bar & 2.2bar 500 to 520 atf bhp. As Anger has said he's had no bother with his so the Md's are maybe better suited to the Scoobs.

HTA Green.... oh and this was on an Evo Nige

Anger 13-10-2010 10:12 PM

From the threads ive read its heavy track use that kills them... the ones on road cars last

Wow, cheers guy's.... Think i will go down the MD range by the sounds of it as i have noticed the majority of you guy's are running them... Not planning to just yet but just asked about this Turbo as i have never herd of them.... What is the actual name of the MD's?

Lateral performance MD321h.....360-425
"""""""t.......410-480
"""""""t+......480-510
""""""v.........480-550bhp

thats the norm with them.... Some make more and some less, depends on spec

Scott.T 14-10-2010 01:25 PM

The other alternative is the Turbo Technics Hybrid, Alan Jeffries performance have been trialling them on the Scoobs with good results and great spool

Tyler 14-10-2010 02:16 PM

Sweet cheers guys... Anger i am liking the sound of the MD 321h... :D are these turbos really laggy though on a 2ltr??

Anger 14-10-2010 04:50 PM

H was the best turbo i had on the RA for alround use and did 11.8 quarter times at 1.6 bar 413bhp 379lbs/ft on v-power

Not standard position tho are they ;)

C. J. 14-10-2010 05:56 PM

if your buying new its about the same for a twisted kit and a gt30 & external waste gate . qicker spool than a h but more power

Anger 14-10-2010 06:00 PM

show me the full twisted set up for £1500 and i'd get it lol

And your getting full boost at 3400rpm like i did on the road with my H ???

C. J. 14-10-2010 06:10 PM

yes and 550 bhp over 400bhp ish on yours !
£450 for twisted from H & S
£200 for waste gate
£1000 for the turbo

C. J. 14-10-2010 06:13 PM

you can pick up second hand turbos for as little as £600 and a waste gate for £100 !

Anger 14-10-2010 06:15 PM

So dukeboy just sold his twisted pipes for £50 more than he got them for from H&S on 22b.... nice

You havnt added all the other extras... intercooler pipes and new induction pipes

I got my H for £600 and it made full boost at 3400rpm on standard heads with a 2.0... show me a graph to beat that with twisted on a 2.0 with standard heads ?

kind of. Standard mount to up pipe but require a custom downpipe for an extra £100 iirc plus small mod to intercooler intake pipe.

Anger 14-10-2010 07:30 PM

and if people have Perrin or any other good make intercooler... the last thing you want to do is chop up the pipes

The MD's are proven on so many cars to produce... others have mapped the S206 and havnt got the same results as Martyn

Im mates with Martyn and theres no way im discreditting his results, but he seams to be the best at mapping them

Dave Beck 14-10-2010 07:47 PM

Was close to getting an S206 after watching him map a 2.5 with good results.

How much power are you after mate? All this talk of 400+ might be well wide of the mark lol

Anger 14-10-2010 07:49 PM

I'd say 360-400 as he said a H was for him Dave ;)

Dave Beck 14-10-2010 07:50 PM

He can buy my 20g then :D lol

Anger 14-10-2010 07:52 PM

And get more lag than a T ;)

Dave Beck 14-10-2010 07:54 PM

:D but at half the price.

Id go for the MD range if i was to do it again

Anger 14-10-2010 07:56 PM

True for the money 20G's are great

Scott.T 14-10-2010 08:46 PM

20g went on eBay for 240 last week and looked to be a genuine Andyf item. So potentially a real bargain.

I paid cash so no vat , intercooler pipes were reused and one extra elbow was used (£20 ebay), induction pipe and filter £100 total. So it cost me less than my md321t :-)
As always anger knows best , three poeple make another suggestion and you just shoot them down .

Greig 15-10-2010 08:48 AM

The 20g on niges old car had almost no lag at all, it was a great turbo, think it was a scoobyclinic one :)

Selling mine at minute, had interest since it went back up for sale but nothing concrete. Andy Forrest Item.

No its not about power power power , you can have low boost settings as well as in like at north weald when i ran 385bhp Twat and cained your back side lol !

Anger 15-10-2010 12:37 PM

Cained my back side by a second and i was there for fun as you might have noticed by my drifting all over the place... Is my car better than Si and Mikes then as i beat them on the first handling course times... No some of us were there for fun!

you just confirmed what a numpty you really are

Hongkongfooi 15-10-2010 01:11 PM

so its a cosy table for two in germany for you two then!

2-jaffacake-tone 15-10-2010 09:59 PM

IMO bolt on turbos are a cheeper opiton by far they spool up very very well! twisted is only needed for big turbos.

On a 2.0 a 321H would be spot on!

Thats fighting talk {without the violence} or a car race at the very least. In one corner a black bug, in the other a white blob. Place your bet's gents. I know just the place guy's

Tyler 17-10-2010 04:42 PM
