Turbo2000 Brakes, shocking, what are the options
Ok so who else thinks the brakes on the classic 2000's are shocking??
Just wondering what the options are besides a brembo upgrade? Would upgradin to a set of P1 calipers and disks fit? |

Pre 96 were shocking 2 pots on the front with 270mm discs
From 96/97 on they were the 4 pots with 297mm vented discs, these are the same as on the P1. Take a look at the K Sport 6 or 8 pots |
Mine are pre 96, they truely are shocking, its a 93, I'll look into the K Sport
|
I cant really afford the K Sport 6 or 8 pots but i have seen some P1 4 pot callipers and disks at a reasonable pprice, will they fit straight on or need some spacers or brackets made up?

turbo 2000 brakes
96/97 on brakes were still 2pots but apparently modified.uk,s didnt gain 4pots until MY2000.
the 4pots and 297mm disks are a straight bolt on job. |
MY97/8 UK and WRXs still have 2 pots, but use a different pad shape.
MY96> STI's and all MY99> all had 4 pots with the 294mm disc. The 4 pots and discs are a direct swap for all the 2 pots. Just make sure they will fit under your wheels. You need atleast 16"s and most wheels will clear, but the optional twin spoke Speedline 17's offered on MY97/8 UK's don't fit. |
Yep
As Dyney says. Good man |
My brother has the big AP conversion and they are the mutts nuts. I've got the 4 pot conversion, stop me well enough
|
cheers guys i will have a good hunt around for some 4pots, give me a shout if you hear or see of any fore sale at a good price, which leads me onto what the tend to see for??
|
If you do find some 4 pots you may need new wheels, as it happens if you're quick my 17's may still be up for grabs!
