Not getting subscription e-mails

Not sure why, changed profile pic the other day.. but for some reason I don't seem to be getting any thread subscription e-mails.. (IE someone posts a response to a thread I have created/viewed or recently read and sub'd to)

Not sure why I have checked both userCP options and Hotmail options all seem fine.

Any Idea's?

Been away all weekend and only got 5 mins tonight but will take a look tomorrow evening hopefully :)

Steve_PPP 03-06-2013 09:55 PM

Well.... bit baffled as i don't appear to be getting them either. I've enabled logging for forum emails and it logs every attempt as successfully sent - but we never actually get the message.

All other forum emails are working, its just the instant (and daily?) notifications for subscriptions. A quick google shows loads of people having the same problem, so maybe a vbulletin bug.....

Ginola 03-06-2013 11:35 PM

Must be something to do with vbulletin then or php/windows update?, I don't receive anything at the other end, checked everything I can think of, I can try several different mail accounts if needed, let me know if you I can help with anything dude.

Googling only yielded this..

Cant be blacklisting as other mails are working you say.

I have just received a thread update e-mail :O

Steve_PPP 07-06-2013 12:39 PM

Yeah, there's different types of notification.

It looks like the instant notification emails (when you get emailed immediately after someone posts in your thread) doesn't work. There is also a weekly notification summary which should work - did you receive this?

Tbh, it seems a bit flakey in general from vBulletin's side of things. I've read that it won't send instant notification emails when you're using the board (i.e. logged in) as you'll already know by using the 'new posts' feature. But if you just close the browser without logging out, your session stays open for ages and you still don't get the emails. Bit daft really! :)

Quite possible I had left the browser logged in on work PC, but still seems odd.. I would have thought I would have encountered the problem before now (as always logged in on work/phone etc)

I didnt get a weekly e-mail update but don't think I have subscribed to a weekly update.

this same problem started happening again a couple of weeks back.. new pc install at work, dono if that would have made any difference.. I blame the Phpz godz

Steve_PPP 24-09-2013 09:55 PM
