So as most of you know iv started doing my car and thought ill do a progress so far and keep adding as I go.... So here it is im just starting to get the front running gear stripped ready for a rebuild with new shiny parts and all the sub frame and other parts have been sent out for power coating.

I have spent loads already at ICP and have loads more to go lol.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...41b02675d7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7306634b73.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...01a0ce5635.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3a5ec34d4b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f13967dd21.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...59fd250123.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...333e83a371.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1aa4113481.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4da7d76204.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c6ab16a867.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8acd47bc93.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3e5c0455b0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a59666fb88.jpg

Pirate1066 19-10-2020 10:03 PM

Restoring ,rebuilds

Wish I could still do what I used to ,ok under the bonnet but can’t kneel or get under car without a lift theses days ,bloody frustrating, and it takes longer I judge a job by how many cups of tea it takes

Red Baron 20-10-2020 07:12 AM

Wish I had your garage space, I have just enough room to get in and out of mine and the door only just shuts.

Looking good. Wish I'd clear coated my aluminium lower arms, spent ages cleaning them up and they were trashed after one drive on winter roads.

It was something you said on a old post about you cleaned then and the after one ride they was dirty again. .. that's what made me think about the clear coats.

A small win for tonight I managed to get a hour in on the car and put hub together. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a301b1aec0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b7c1b51682.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7ca33cce8b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9adbfe1a5f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...466f8239f8.jpg

Got to spend a couple of days looking at car so stripped the engine down to see whats wrong and no obvious damage apart from a small sharp bur at the end of the cylinder but then after further investigation it looks like the crank shaft has been slowing started to rub on the block so that must be where the metal in the oil came from.... and the crank shaft has about 2.5 to 3mm movement side to side.

The gear box is in for a rebuild now so should be back next week.

Cheers i was only going do the engine but once you start and it goes on and on but its a perfect time to do it with the lock downs.... not that I can work from home so I still got to go in.
As for the heater there not expensive only £150 max and works a treat. I see your one is coming alone nicely now its looking good 👍.

I wan't a bigger one its never big enough when your stripping your car apart im thinking of renting a bigger unit so I can put a lift in it and can work on car better and have a lot more room.

If you get a unit with a lift it will pay for itself by renting out to people.
