Car Plans 2015

So any ideas of what you might do to the car?

For me it will mainly paintwork and getting rid of dents. Unless I come into some decent money then that will be it other than general maintenance.

Scooby_Greg 01-01-2015 08:53 PM

Front end re-spray to get rid of the stone chips and then selling :(
You say that now Tim - let's wait and see! ;)

Scruff 01-01-2015 08:58 PM

Sell it unfortunately.

Scott.T 01-01-2015 09:10 PM

  • Front End gravel rash removal. Something I have been meaning to do since about 2010.
  • Rear arch rust removal. Which really annoys and surprises me considering the life this car had lead.
  • TD05-18G Billet
  • Start underbody refresh

Banstead Stig 01-01-2015 09:24 PM

I think this might be the year mine goes too.

I'll have had it four years in February and I reckon it might be time to try something else... V8 based hopefully. :D

We'll still have Mrs Stig's Impreza though...!

Anger 01-01-2015 09:27 PM

Drive and enjoy it.... Might do some of the sprint rounds

simonairheadz 01-01-2015 09:38 PM

Enjyoung mine as much as ever, and enjoying having the new sti in the family

Matt23 01-01-2015 09:54 PM

Find and buy another Impreza and get some much needed enjoyment out of it

Granby 01-01-2015 09:54 PM

Nothing at all :-)

scooby doo 01-01-2015 10:18 PM

Do a wrc theme for the bug, (no stickers!!)
Not sure how far to go but lots if ideas in my head

Struggling to find wrc mirrors for less than £220 atm

scotty 01-01-2015 10:49 PM

Order a set of gold revolution milleniums in a few weeks time .

Steve_PPP 01-01-2015 10:59 PM

Hopefully not too much to do this year on the car, its cost me enough lately!

Only possible plan might be a second set of wheels and some track rubber :)

SpecB 02-01-2015 06:46 AM

Pass the MOT, and replace disks.

Then refit & relocate oil cooler, tidy up the engine bay, refurbish wheels, and sort out suspension (MOT advisory on springs so either replace with new BC springs and possible shock rebuild or go for Bilstein B6 shocks and H & R springs)

If funds allow, new turbo.

bigemp 02-01-2015 07:50 AM

Sell it as don't get used

Mortster 02-01-2015 09:49 AM

Bug - Been a little unloved lately, so new exhaust, VF35, pinks/hawkblues, new rear suspension, general tidy up.

V1 - Car park dinks, ecu swap.

Landy - 200TDI engine

R1NGO - Actually do something this year.

C. J. 02-01-2015 11:12 AM

Moley_WRX 02-01-2015 03:36 PM

Not much planned for mine.
Biggest mod will hopefully be a garage to keep it in!

Bolesroor 02-01-2015 04:04 PM

On my wish list is,
Get Liz back on the road, serviced and mot'd ;-)
Front, side skirts and rear bumper sprayed on the Wagon.
Front brakes refurbished and wheels on the Wagon painted.
Front end refresh on the blob and sort an annoying windscreen chip courtesy of last year's ring trip oh and drive it more than once a year:drive: :-D

LOL, if my extension was done I'd be tempted but from March i'll have no garage for a while, or driveway come to think of it as it'll be covered in skips.

ScoobyStu 02-01-2015 08:14 PM

Nice I like it....

But that is a list for Wagon Si and Jo to do 36 hours before he leaves for the Ring

Rdlangy1 03-01-2015 07:16 AM

Ha ha ha!

Well they can always come help me do mine 72hrs before ring trip thus still leaving them 36hrs to do theirs :ok:

I have all the gear and no idea! Pmsl

555_Si 03-01-2015 10:34 AM

No going to have a relaxed year this year, no more last minute Ring preperations.

Well at least we now have that in writing!!:whistle:

555_Si 03-01-2015 12:33 PM

lol

NL03Scooby 03-01-2015 01:07 PM

Have a small list of things I have planned, most of them to coincide with my first trip to the ring!

Cambelt and tensioners etc.

Possibly clutch as not sure how long the current one has been in the car, feels good though!

New front pads suitable for the Ring, any ideas on the best of both worlds (road & track) people...?

Rear anti roll bar and drop links

Possibly front anti roll bar and drop links

Re-spray and fit the front bumper currently in the way in the garage at my parents!

Fit the front splitter 'Santa' got me for Christmas

Would like a decent head unit however budget and the performance parts come first!

Minor service, keep it clean, tidy up body/wheels...

And that should be about it, although I want to fit some coilovers too as my biggest desire, question is do I murder the credit card or not :-o

555_Si 03-01-2015 03:00 PM

front pads for Ring. Performance Friction Z rated i would say and change the brake fluid, I use ATE Super Blue or something.

:agreed:

I am currently running Motul Racing Brake Fluid 600 factory line / DOT 4

Ive had no brake fade at all but there again I dont go very fast.:ok:

NL03Scooby 03-01-2015 03:14 PM

Just had a look at some of those Si, seem like a good choice. I have spoken to E too and he has suggested the same pad, will look in to fluids also.

Forgot to mention braided brake lines on my list too...

Alyn at http://asperformance.com/ can supply you all you need..

Scott.T 03-01-2015 05:43 PM

I didn't like the pf's compared to ferrodo ds2500 for day to day use. But you do pay more for the ferrodo.

Rdlangy1 03-01-2015 05:49 PM

Alyn supplied me performance friction pads for Xmas and motul 5.1 fluid too - great guy - get all my bits from him. Will be calling him Monday for whiteline bits :ok:

555_Si 03-01-2015 06:46 PM

trouble with ds2500 you have to make sure you wash your wheels all the time as the pad dust is corrosive, or atleast when i used to use them years ago.

SpecB 03-01-2015 07:37 PM

Another Ds2500 fan here!

C. J. 03-01-2015 07:48 PM
