Such a shame youre not with Green Flag as Elva recovery are just along the road.

I realise that a 4 wheel drive car cannot be towed with two wheels lifted, but can it be towed on a bar or with a rope?

SpecB 31-07-2011 08:41 AM

Yes you can tow with all 4 wheels on the road but only a very short slow distance!

I've had this every time I needed mine put on a truck. Results in some guy in a van turning up, 'yeah its f""ked you need a truck, that'll be x hours'. Cheers!

Hope you get it sorted

sumo-scooby 31-07-2011 11:01 AM

scooberblue 31-07-2011 11:28 AM

Do you know if there is normaly abit of play in the release fork in the box? Not sure if the bearing has come off or not
Need a new slave cylinder as there is a bit missing out of the seal on the piston

scooby doo 31-07-2011 02:38 PM

ill have alook later on mine mate if no one else hasnt replied by then,

sumo-scooby 31-07-2011 02:38 PM

This is how it gets its revenge of running it low on fuel around an hour before, first time the fuel light had ever come on.
Hoping its just the slave cylinder but theres alot of movement on the clutch release fork

Ok thanks matey will be much appeciated

scooberblue 31-07-2011 03:58 PM

mine has hardly any play.
if you mean forward an back movement it could be that the the clutch release bearing has come away from the clutch wich would then give you alot of play plus then the clutch cylinder would push more than it should causeing that to split the seal.

sumo-scooby 31-07-2011 04:50 PM

The shaft that holds the release fork in place was sitting against the starter motor which ther should be a plug there i think which has caused brearing to come off by the looks of things

scooberblue 31-07-2011 05:34 PM

yeah the cap is nearly half inch thick an is an allen key type cap.
if your back over this way i have a spare in my garage you can have

sumo-scooby 31-07-2011 06:13 PM

Ok thanks, il get a slave cylinder and check to see if its working as should as dont really want to take the box off

sumo-scooby 31-07-2011 06:14 PM

Then when on the road again il come and grab it if thats ok

scooberblue 31-07-2011 07:42 PM

yeah thats fine.
mine should be back on the road friday so could meet up to drop it of if need be

sumo-scooby 02-08-2011 11:00 PM
