Probably not to everyone’s taste but I like it :) took me a few months only had drop links advised on the mot , also I re bushed every arm the gearbox that went in I had rebuilt the inside is stripped out I had it on the road for 6 months got fed up of the piston slap so that’s on the agenda :)

Rdlangy1 26-06-2018 04:41 PM

Nice work! Come a long way and lots of effort gone into it :ok:

Ellsa1 26-06-2018 04:46 PM

Thanks it was an absolute shed when I bought it and apart from the gearbox drove great but the piston slap had to go so yeah that’s another thread I’ll have to do not that it’s anything special

Good effort being brave enough to save it - looked a right state when you started and many wouldn't have bothered!

I like the grey too :ok:

Ellsa1 26-06-2018 07:20 PM

Yeah it alright I guess was a bit of a state lol how a car looks don’t bother me lol as long as it’s one colour lol its all about how the car performs and it’s Audi’s nardo grey the colour :-D I wasn’t too sure on it but it’s growing on me

Red Baron 26-06-2018 08:13 PM

Grey seems really popular on a lot of new cars, Ford, Audi, VW and Seat seem to be doing them on their performance ranges. Always good to see another classic saved as well.

Ellsa1 26-06-2018 08:16 PM

Thanks for the kind words guys it’s not the best lol but it’s people like you that keep everyone going :drive:

Rdlangy1 26-06-2018 08:33 PM

Hi Elliott,

Nardo grey is a winner for me :ok:

And beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. everyone on this site has there opinions about what is nice and what isn’t - but you will never find anyone tell you what you have done is not right.

We are all a supportive group, with very different views on how to modify, but with a common passion for scoobs, modifying, and cars in general :ok:

Bolesroor 27-06-2018 08:54 AM

Very nice, like the colour of your scoob and the vw is :10:

Can I ask where the car was painted please, always interested in peep's experiences :ok:

Cheers,
Steve

I painted it in a freinds garage , just cleaned up a section of the garage put some boards up to stop the dust and cracked on I’ve painted in some shocking places and always come out with a top quality finish , I honestly don’t know how people in proper paint shops have trouble lol must be by painting skills 😝
