Mini project - left over stainless steel and 10 hours later!

I’ve seen loads of these things either for sale, or on other people’s cars. Call them what you like, slam panel, air flow efficiency panel, radiator cooling panel… Or just Bling!

Any way… I had some spare stainless lying around and thought I’d make one. Pretty easy really, trim to correct size, drill some holes, cut some grooves, mark out and bend at around 15 / 20 degrees ish. I’m not much of a magpie so I haven’t gone for full mirrored polish; I prefer the brushed stainless look. Then some PTFE wear tape on the back to stop it wearing the paint away (You dont get that when you buy one!). Then fitted it and replaced those silly 12mm bolts which Subaru insist on using and always catch me out when selecting the correct socket with 13mm stainless steel bolts. Job done!

Sorry about the small photo, had to trim it till it reached under 256kb!

Cheers guys.

Well as the first one is always the one you spend hours on developing a pattern and working out the dimensions, any more after that will take half the time.

I used to knock up lots of different types of stainless brackets / sheilds / panels when I put an old Ford on show. Couldnt buy them, so I made them. Always out of 316 stainless too, only the best.

Although making lots used to be time consuming, so go on guys have a crack at it, its easy! Think all the Scoobies after the Classic or even later Classics have different radiator set ups so this would make it different again?!?
