Megane RS 265 cup

Some of you know I have eventually got a new car, one that I can use for pretty much everything.
So two weeks ago I went down to Ktec/Ktr in Dorset and picked up the above.

So far very pleased with it. Its got all the modern things i was after. I made sure I got one with the essential recaros which are ace.
Its a deceptively quick car out of the box and carries remarkable speed through the corners.
Its running brand new michelin pilot sport 3's which so far are very impressive.
No engine plans until its out of warranty next year.

I will be upgrading the brake pads and lowering springs in due course.

Great choice.
I'd keep it standard as an absolute weapon straight from the box.
I know somebody else that has been thinking of one of these for a track toy.

Be good to hear what it's like to live with as I've considered one of these.

Test drove and enjoyed it, so having longer term feedback will be interesting.

Looks very nice.

scotty 27-07-2015 09:37 PM

That's very nice Tim trip to the ring next year with it .

Yes, do it :ok:

It's a very nice car mate and should tick all your boxes. I only had a quick look but it certainly makes the scoobs feel dated!

Hongkongfooi 27-07-2015 09:45 PM

Thanks all. Traction is good but not 4wd good. So I have to make sure the fronts are steering as straight as possible when I nail it. No where near as good in the wet either.

Granby 27-07-2015 09:46 PM

Lift off oversteer always fun :)

SamSTI 27-07-2015 09:49 PM

That looks lovely Tim :)

555_Si 27-07-2015 10:21 PM

Nice motor Tim,

might have to be South East Renaults soon, my mate has just got a Megane R26 as well as owning a Clio v6 (Trophy replica), and quite a few other have got Clio 182's, one races in the MSV Track Day Trophy Series, and I am selling off cars to finance a Clio 172/182 track car.

Bytes 27-07-2015 10:47 PM

Very nice Tim, liking the big grin on the front

Sounds like a good plan si. Also there is another member on here that also has a megane 250 so they are getting popular.

bigemp 28-07-2015 10:55 AM

That does look very nice Tim!!

NL03Scooby 28-07-2015 11:22 AM

Nice looking car Tim, I'm sure you have got a few of the folks on here a little jealous! These were well spoken of on this years Ring trip as many of us gazed at their form around the track. Hope these modern day French cars have better electrics then that of a few years back...

Red Baron 28-07-2015 11:33 AM

I remember seeing one of these very briefly about 4 minutes into this video

Cracking cars

Rdlangy1 28-07-2015 02:02 PM

lovely looking motor :ok:

Scott.T 28-07-2015 05:32 PM

Nice Car and love those Recaro's.
It just shows they can make even a French car desirable.

P.S Your definition of "I'm Skint" must be very different to mine ;)

Why do you think I was running around in pug diesel;)

Ginola 28-07-2015 07:00 PM

Love the seats and it looks menacing in the rear view mirror!

I know they are dam quick from experience in Germany keeping pace with one for half a lap of the ring was a lot of fun!

Looking forward to the updates next year :D

Not sure they do them in odd colours BigE ;) x

Met this guy on my last NBR trip about 3 weeks ago, all repaired and was back out on track.

Granby 12-08-2015 11:28 PM

I don't want to lose it anywhere!

What a good choice Tim. Just my opinion put Mich cups on the full fat ones mind & that's it oh maybe pads. The Megan RS are just brilliant. The only cars that can worry them are the Bm's & Porkers at the Ring really.:drive:

Hongkongfooi 19-08-2015 09:12 PM

Cup2's on the list nige thanks

Granby 19-08-2015 09:14 PM

Mich pilot super sports also a good choice if you want a more all round tyre

Steve_PPP 01-09-2015 03:06 PM

No worries ;)

Sure you'll be fine mate. Just don't try keeping up with Dave as he had plenty of practice this year :)

Hongkongfooi 14-04-2016 05:23 PM
