A change for the winter..
After months of searching for something 500bhp and reliable i gave up...to many people selling turds for top money.. i wanted something else i could have abit of fun in for the winter, that was built for the outdoors(save me tucking it away in the garage) i had wanted one for long time and after driving my oldmans, i had to treat myself... so a quick trip up the 25, a cambelt change and service later, she was good to go..Fully loaded 2 owners with low millege and full history, aswell electric everything,so nice to have some creature comforts and suprisingly good on a run aswell!

Nice.
A chap near me has a Hawk kit, same colour as yours. It looks great. How low mileage? A Disco would suit my needs in many ways, but the potential bills put me off. I suspect it's not as bad as many make out, especially if it's not a high miler. |
74 thousand miles this one...i think if your handy with spanners it wont be to costly.. main dealer prices are comical! And i think.half the battle is finding one thats been looked after and not abused.. i very nearly didnt buy one.. after reading through the net, but then when i actually stopped people and asked friends and randoms that owned them not one gave them abad review and i asked alot of bods, the oils and filters.. cambelt kit and general parts are suprisingly reasonable i think...really is a nice bit of kit. A couple of people spoke of friends who have them knocking on 300thousand mile marks and only reporting general wear and tear costs....

Good to hear.
I'm not really able to tackle things myself, as although I'm not fat, neither am I practised. It wouldn't be the best thing to learn on I don't think! |
Nice motor
My Liz loves these and has been looking for a while to move on from her 04 plate Disco .When the tiddlywinks were small it's was great for all things, towing, 7-up, loaded to the roof camping holiday's in France, bikes on the back etc. Now not really needed anymore trying to convince her otherwise is a challenge I'm to old to take on,she loves the size of the thing, (yes I have told her size isn't everything :-D) the seating position and how it drives. I don't like the 89 litre fuel tank ,economy on the 04 diesel is not good and yes when they do go wrong it's can be £ainful and I only have half a spanners ability to fix things and have to rely on specialist to sort. The later Disco 4 ' s get great reviews with the experts saying that Landrover have finally sorted out all the gremlins , but they are still a lot of money, the new version is launched soon I think and Liz is hoping this will have an effect on pricing and availability as people trade in for a new one . Look forward to more updates.:ok: |

I really like these and was tempted this time around, but need a bit of speed back in my life. Why anyone would pick an RR sport over one of these I don't know. The Disco is so practical and doesn't have the same image problem.
