98 classic no compression on 2 cylinders

Hi all, joined this morning so new to this forum.

Basically had a so called low mileage engine fitted to my classic at the end of last year, the supplier said it was a good engine with no issues and had been tested.

My mechanics done all work needed during the swap and once it was started it was missing on both cylinders on the right bank (looking from front of car), compression test showed 0 compression on both cylinders, could this be a timing error or is it the head gasket completely gone, apart from the obvious issue the engine is sound, the supplier hasn't responded to any messages of mine in 4 months and the garage are refusing to do any more work on it until they are paid. What can I do, I've spent 1000's on having all this done and still don't have the car working. Gutted is an understatement !!!

Any ideas people

0 compression on both cylinders sounds like engine out and rebuild time. I know a very good man in Hastings that could do this but again it's going to cost . Rebuild is £1500 if not going forged. Or so I'm told

They also said that air was coming out of the servo pipe, any ideas on that ?

Did you buy anything from me on scoobynet, I sold a 3" sportcat downpipe on there to someone from Hastings ?

Neil97rs 04-04-2017 09:03 PM

Yes that was me

Neil97rs 04-04-2017 09:04 PM

As for the air coming out I have no idea why that would be

£1500 is a very cheap rebuild, even not going forged, I rebuilt a set of avcs heads and pit them on the car and even doing a lot of bits myself it was still nearly 1k

It's just cost me a fortune for nearly a year and the car still isn't on the road, so gutted about it, I would do it myself but I sold all my equipment to do it. I'll have to start saving

Who did you buy the engine from a breaker or just some joe bloggs .

ScoobynShag 05-04-2017 05:42 AM

Hi, bought the engine from a so called reputable JDM engine importer, so he says. I'm sure I have rights to somehow get my money or some sort of compensation for it ?

Neil97rs 05-04-2017 12:55 PM

You must have some sort of rights but would involve a small claims court. But is only a small fee

If you can prove your case small claims court is an easy and cheap option.
