Will 18x8 inch 225/40/18 rub on a classic?

40's yes especially if the offset is less than 51. They are also the wrong rolling circumference.
35's give the right rolling circumference and are fag paper close on an ET51.

Cheers scott, saw a set of turinis for sale in kent on S'net. £600 and thought may look smart on the Ra.

Turini are normally ET48.
Fine for newage but not classic without rolling arches.
