Unplanned, but looking for new car

Well i thought i might as well start a thread on my new search for a car, not going to be able to drive for a bit, but can start looking.
I really not sure what i will end up with, but now likely to be either
Scoob
Mitsi Evo

In answer to Worzels question in another thread, i want a certain level of comfort, air con, bluetooth and possibly heated seats, but more important is performance and would like a bit of exclusivity.

Anyone know much abouth these?

If you want a scoob or evo talk to rich at http://www.rrhautosltd.co.uk/122736/rrh.htm
Tell him you want a spotless car and he'll find you one , top bloke
If you ask nice he'll take you out in the X box8-)

Seriously tho, its what I would go for. I took delivery of mine 2 weeks before they anounced the RB and was gutted. Unfortunatly my dealer didnt mention it to me at the time. The other option of course, is a Litchfield type 25 with 415 BHP and loads of cossy goodies. Or, an imported RA-R.

Hongkongfooi 07-05-2010 01:42 PM

that litchfield ra is awesome and exclusive....no heated seats though!

What about a VXR8 with supercharger conversion?

Rs4 mtm? old stylee

Real madrid at the lane anyone?

simonairheadz 07-05-2010 01:53 PM

a scoob or mitzi evo............................................... ................and would like a bit of exclusivity.
counts both out then lol

Crowman 07-05-2010 01:56 PM

I did consider the M3 CSL but just think scoob is in my blood, i am liking the sound of 415bhp Type 25.
Chris i will take a look, thanks.
I know very little abouth the RB320 or the Type 25, RA and all the later stuff.
I have to say i do want Air con as a minimum.
If i get a RB320 then i will blame Jay, his is stunning. Is it 320 because of the BHP?
The type 25 is that just a Litchfield spec, sorry to be dumb but i have only ever had a classic

Another vote for Rich, I'd recomend him to anyone :D

Hongkongfooi 07-05-2010 02:38 PM

I think 996 porsches are very bland....apart from the gt3/gt2's

avoid the early 3.4L if you go this route!

belliott 07-05-2010 02:46 PM

if it was me i would be looking at the hawkeye sti's or the new hatches, not keen on the audi rs's after reading a few threads on different sites where most who have had them went straight to a bmw as they are not as well spec'd, cost the same money and weren't as quick as they feel they should of been. the evo's a difficult one, there's no disputing that they are a cracking car but alot of people you speak to say they are too electronic and devoid of a "soul", you'll be quicker then most other people but the car will do the work.

actually forget what i said and buy the 22b, keep it near enough standard and you'll be on to a winner in afew years.

Lucky 07-05-2010 02:53 PM

Martyn,

Starting with the one I think I would have if I had the choice - the type 25. This says it all really

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLOThcuVM0U

The RB320 was a limited run of 320 and had the PPP as standard taking it to 316 bhp. It came with a better suspension set up than the STi, 18" prodrive alloys and some nice interior touches. BUT, make sure when you are looking you find one with the optional RB leather interior and sat nav. Some of them came with the standard blue STi interior, where as some had the upgraded black seats etc. Take it to JGM and it'll be sorted!!

Hongkongfooi 07-05-2010 03:02 PM

Pm XRS....saw his last weekend...very nice! I will be getting the ast susp in due course as a result.

Skullfudge 07-05-2010 03:11 PM

Crowman when you say you are looking for something with a bit of power I'm not too sure of what level but this 65 Chevy is up for sale & within budget.

No Air Con BUT lots of power. Bluetooth can be fitted.

Or is this a bit over the top :)

Crowman 07-05-2010 04:14 PM

Clive that's perfect, has it got sat nav

RobEvo5 07-05-2010 04:55 PM

Mentioned above, but forgot about the 335I or D M sport. These get very, very good reviews and can be remapped to 400/400 out of the box. Now that makes for a very quick, comfortable road car. Doesn't have M' badge servicing or runnning costs either.

4 door or 2 door..

Plenty of guys on Scoobynet have moved to these and can't sign there praises enough.

Or a curve ball and a brand new insignia VXR in the colour spec combination of your choice. 300bhp 4wd torquey car. No doubt someone could remap it as well.

XRS 07-05-2010 05:12 PM

The Type-25 was a limited edition produced by Iain Litchfield, originally based on the Blobeye, then gradually improved until the ultimate (until the next one!) Hawkeye with Cosworth engine. Early Blobeyes Had pretty standard internals, but by the time of the MY05 cars they had forged pistons. These were generally 350bhp/350ftlbs, but mine (build no. 27) has just given 350/385 following new head gaskets (which it seems all 2.5 motors need around 30,000 miles).
My guess is that for your money you should be looking at a Cosworth version (that is the 415 or more bhp model), although I believe there are a maximum of only around 15 in existence, and that's if they all still survive!
Fifth Gear did an article on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLOThcuVM0U

Ordering from new you could choose any base model you wanted, so they are not all based on the Spec C. Mine is based on the standard JDM car, as I'm old and I wanted some creature comforts!

Any questions, let me know.

Scott.T 07-05-2010 07:40 PM

A nice selection of Scoob's and Evo's.
Always seems to have nice looking Hawkeye's in stock.
The Lambo's might be a bit much though.....

Crow: I have sent a text to Rich (Sub Editor of Redline Mag) and asked him if there is anything about thats a bit different.

Good chance he will know of something.

Crowman 07-05-2010 09:35 PM

Thanks everyone for excelent info, the Type 25 realy does look fantastic.
The M3 was fantastic for sure, but you know i am getting rather excited now about a decent spec,d scoob or something interesting with big power, skyline maybe.

Garry
Thanks for the chat today, will be calling and sorting things with you monday.

Kei Man 07-05-2010 09:43 PM

lol, really love the look of the newer M5s. But for that kind of money, i'd insist on something AWD, probably an RS4.

Insignia VXR that Rob posted in white is interesting tho, as its brand spanking new. Not sure how good they actually are tho!

C. J. 08-05-2010 09:38 AM

Well i have just got off the phone to Litchfields, the Spec C RA has sold, but next week they have an 06 Type 25 Spec C which they originally sold just in my budget, and also a White Spec C, so i am going to go down towards end of next week providing i am up to it.
Mind pretty much made up 415bhp type 25.
The Type 25 they have coming in is the actuall one on there web site if you select the mark2 type25.

Type 25 is a cracking car, but would never have a blue one.
Looks too much like a regular STi.
Blue is great but too many are blue, would prefer white or grey myself.
