I really like the look of that Scott, looks a nice clean example  I would do something about that yellow under the bonnet though.

Ginola 29-05-2015 10:11 PM

I like that widetrack STi ;) I guess I'm biased though :) what did Wifey say? And what was millage and price ;)

She said it was ok as it needs some work done to it i.e rear droplinks need replaced , front splitter fixed , wheels need a refurb big time , one of the gauges is flickering , front lights need buffed got the old cloud affect but the garage is doing all the work including cambelt change , fresh MOT

Good bits sitting on tein springs and fitted with a cat back miltek exhaust and that's it 73000 miles with full service history price is 9,995 well over priced in my eyes .

Sounds decent I would say its about 1 to 1.5k over what it should be,

I paid 9800 for mine "Private
standard PPP with 34k on it 4 years ago it was pretty tidy back then :P but they have held there value very well and are sort after.

Sounds like a car that's been driven and serviced but that's it.
Service history isn't everything as many that have full history the owners know where to put fuel in but don't know how to open the bonnet let alone where oil and water goes.

I would always walk away from a car that needs it's wheels refurbished 'big time'. It says a lot about the owner.

scotty 30-05-2015 10:52 AM

Well the verdict on taking my mates blob wrx for drive so smooth handles so nice with whiteline goodies lowered just right with tein springs on kyb shocks wife likes it that's the main thing . Things needing sorted front lights need replaced got condensation , front splitter needs replaced and put a sti spoiler on it and that's it but we will be still looking at others before we decide .

That's got some nice upgrades (STI front spats & splitter, rear diffuser, leather etc). Also a red inlet manifold.... might have had an STI lump dropped in it?

scotty 31-05-2015 06:10 PM

Doesn't say if it's had a map either which questions me but who knows I might take a drive down at the weekend and found out .

That's silly money for wrx in my opinion, though it does look to have an STI inlet manifold you could buy an 04 STI for the same or less with similar mileage.

I agree Dave all the good cars seem to be down south and asking for daft money weather it's WRX or a STI but we will continue with our search even if we don't find one she likes until the end of the year .

Well went to view the above sti that is for sale at 6k but it would cost me a further £1200 to make it rust free so walked away from that one .

Red Baron 02-06-2015 12:11 PM

Where was the rust Scotty, sounds like it's becoming a problem on some new age cars now?

Under the spoiler on the boot lid , drivers door at the bottom , both rear arches where rear bumper fixes to rear arch and both front wings Shane .

Steve_PPP 02-06-2015 02:04 PM

Under spoiler on the bootlid is a common one if the draining channels under the spoiler get blocked with dirt, water can't drain away. Rear arches... well, its a scoob after all. The other rust is surprising on a newage though, suggests its been living outside for most of its life.

What age was it Scotty? I got mine from a dealer with 66k for £6800, wasn't perfect but prices for some Sti's seem a little high. Admittedly I guess mine was a 2003 so not not a wide track.

54 plate rob and not widetrack off to Wolverhampton tomorrow to look at another but they starting to go back up in price as I've been doing online car valuation both private and dealer prices .

Banstead Stig 06-06-2015 12:53 PM

Bit of a journey for you then tomorrow. I had no idea they had started to go up on value, I think standard ones with no mods are proving quite popular, I have started to ruin mine then!
