Some more events for the calender.

28th March, British Rally X @ Lydden Hill
27th May, World Rally X @ Lydden Hill
29th August, British Rally X @ Lydden Hill

Some of the best racing you'll see. Reasonably priced also.

thepieman 05-01-2016 10:47 AM

Looks like a busy year, with some good events/meets:five:

How about making the March meet a breakfast meet somewhere, followed by a run out to Saywell@Goodwood?

+1 on that, would be nice to arrive at Goodwood in convoy too, might even manage to park together...

Good idea, would the place used in Arundel be able to cope ?

The cafe we use? No, unfortunately not. Its only a small place with 5 or 6 tables and on-street parking. There's the cafe at Bury Hill that some of the guys met at a few months ago that might do the trick though? its only just up the road from Arundel on the A29 and 2 mins from Fontwell. :)

Is that the Whiteways Cafe? guessing parking won't be a problem as its a regular meet up for bikers........

Steve_PPP 06-01-2016 11:07 AM

That's the one but never been there mate.... Ginola knows it well i think. Thoughts Dave??

scotty 06-01-2016 12:10 PM

Look at all those meets mmmmm i feel a weekend brake getting booked :-D:drive:

Rdlangy1 06-01-2016 01:13 PM

I think I went to that meet - carpark was fairly big so should cope :ok:

The Handbrake 06-01-2016 05:40 PM

Whiteways is good for a coffee and tea but park benches for seats so will have to be a fair weather day. Will have a think of other places for you too

The Handbrake 06-01-2016 05:53 PM

Just outside of Arundel on the Chichester road there is the White Swan, ample parking http://www.white-swan-arundel.co.uk/events/

The Handbrake 06-01-2016 05:55 PM

Otherwise in Chi itself I only know of Goodwood hotel/pub/ The Kennels or Harvester near where we meet for Goodwood events sometimes

SpecB 06-01-2016 07:01 PM

The Vintage Inn at Fontwell does breakfasts, Or further this way you have a few places in Bognor itself or even Harbour Lights in LA

Bolesroor 06-01-2016 08:45 PM

Japfest attendance April

Will the club be attending this? If so doesn't it need to be done soon to get the code for individuals to book ASAP.

If not do we know of any other clubs that can offer the code.

Sorry if this seems confusing, but the website implies book soon and you need the code to get your car book to be on a stand and not general public and car left outside.

In the title "Japfest April" need the code to book for a cheaper price plus it gets the car inside and not public parking.

As Handbrake says, its outdoors so needs to be a nice day, no issue with parking of course,

The coffee is decent, I've not eaten more than a hot dog from there though so could not comment on breakfast.

Steve_PPP 07-01-2016 01:57 PM

Ah, i thought it was a proper indoor cafe job rather than a food counter with outside seating. There's one just south of Cowfold but its a bit further over this way from Goodwood.

Harvester option down that way would work, last Harvester brekkie meet at Polegate worked well :)

SpecB 07-01-2016 02:11 PM

Not sure what time breakfast would need to be by but this Garden Centre does a good deal from 9?

Nice one Scott. Some great events there and I'll defo be around for more meets this year. Looks like I'm finally moving so all of that is out of the way, just need to sort myself a good RB during the year and everything will be back to normal lol.

Scott.T 15-01-2016 09:38 AM

Well it looks like JapFest has moved to Silverstone and is now 24th April.
At least it's a touch less on the mileage (38 miles different, round trip for me).

Although I was hoping to tie it in with a trip over the boarder to Wales this year.....oh well !!!!

Garyskisplym 29-02-2016 11:59 AM

Why is auto italia at brook lands on the event list is this not an Italian only show??

Gareth

555_Si 29-02-2016 12:17 PM

It is a non SES listed event as I guess a lot of us have interest in other marques rally heritage.

Auto Italia is a good event, have been many times as have had close ties with Lancia Integrales in the past.

To enter a car in the event it has to be Italian, but the event itself is open to all visitors.

Garyskisplym 29-02-2016 03:32 PM

Ow I now see why it in lost I agree with you si good event having owned an Abarth and Alfa have attended it afew times myself

alfa male 29-02-2016 07:55 PM

British Rally X, 28th March :10:

Garyskisplym 02-03-2016 09:55 AM

Are the club going to have a stand at japfest??

Have had a look around the site but can't see anything

No plans for one.

Scott.T 13-03-2016 10:39 AM

I was thinking of arranging something for JapFest, but then I read the bit about having to complete the Club Stand H&S Form and the need for Public Liability Insurance.

I wonder how many club stands there will be, as tickets are not issued unless an insurance cover certificate is provided !!!!!

Public car park for SES then......at least you can leave when you want....so a win/win.

Oh dear, another sign of today's stupid health & safety mad Britain. :(

thepieman 13-03-2016 11:20 AM

Isn't it only exhibitors that require insurance?

Club stands don't?

Club stands must have a minimum of five cars. Club bookings are subject to space availability and we reserve the right to close entry before the closing date. DO NOT purchase public tickets for a club stand, as these will not be valid.
If you intend to bring a gazebo or other branding please complete the Club Health and Safety form.

thepieman 13-03-2016 11:35 AM

Don't take gazebo then:lol:

I think flag's will end up also considered as a 'risk'.
I have emailed then to clarify and also to get our name down on their booking system, should we wish to attend.

The Handbrake 13-03-2016 01:26 PM

If I'm at work tomorrow I will find out how much Pl cover is for Ses at max capacity incl gazebo and flags. Just out of curiosity rather.

Scott.T 13-03-2016 01:53 PM

Thanks Wanda that would be really useful.
The last time I looked at it they wanted to know event footfall etc...which was impossible to predict.

Scott.T 14-03-2016 01:15 PM

SES will require PLI to attend Japfest :( :( world

Even without flags etc etc? That's madness:cuckoo:

Rdlangy1 14-03-2016 01:18 PM

Crazy!

Scott.T 14-03-2016 06:50 PM

After letting Japfest know we would likely not attend due to PLI requirements they came straight back and said we didn't have to have it.
Sounds like they prefer it but it's not a requirement. So I take from that, clubs can go at risk of being sued should anything fall on anyone.

Rdlangy1 14-03-2016 06:56 PM

Amazing how they change their tune... Gutted as I'm on holiday that week and don't get back to the Sunday afternoon so won't be able to make it :-(

Scott.T 14-03-2016 06:58 PM

I'm tempted by a local'ish premier Inn if anyone fancies a few beers and a bite to eat the night before.
