Differences between turbo's

Hi everyone,

Whats the difference between VF30, VF34, VF35, VF43, VF48, TD05 turbos?

People seem to recommend the VF35 for an upgrade on my WRX Bug, why is this?

Thanks

VF30 came off early Bug STi
VF35 came off Blob STi
They are pretty similar turbo's
The above can achieve upto 340-350BHP, but normally sit around 320-330BHP. Good spool times

VF34 was on JDM and is a roller bearing equivalent of the above. Better Spool and a touch more power 360BHP would be considered good going. This is considered the best of the VF range, but can be pricey.

VF43 is off a Hawkeye STi and will run more power then the above, upto about 370-380BHP

TD05 was never officially available as a front entry turbo for 97> Subaru's. These are all modified and/or aftermarket builds.
These come in various sizes 16G (350BHP), 18G (380BHP), 20G (400BHP)
Spool on these is slower then all of the above, but this can be assisted if fitted with a billet wheel

All of the above would be a direct fit, but the VF35 has probably been recommended for you as it's the easy choice STi retrofit.

Thats fantastic info mate! Thanks.
You think going down the VF35 is the best option?

to clarify VF30 was only fitted to JDM spec cars...........

VF35 fitted to all Euro/UK spec 2.0 STi's

found a company local to me that can supply a VF30 fully reconditioned with 1yr warranty for £700. I know £700 is a lot more that some of the £350 turbos i have seen online but is it worth paying the extra?

Depends would you want warranty for peice of mind or buy one then find out it needs a refurb but if it was me I would choose the one that comes with warranty .
