You should definitely come next time Adam. I've never done a track day before this and after my little incident on my first corner of my first lap  I had the time of my life.

Lucky 08-08-2013 08:43 PM

Great pictures, wish I had been back from wales in time. Defo get the wagon on track next time tho.

555_Si 09-08-2013 09:08 AM

Yeah i've been checking a couple of times a day as well, not rushed are they lol

The Handbrake 09-08-2013 06:01 PM

I rang msv last night. They apologised and said they had problems trying to get the photos on the site but assured me they do have them and hope to have them up by tonight. Fingers crossed

Steve_PPP 09-08-2013 08:22 PM

 Good hassling skills! :D

Martin H 09-08-2013 08:37 PM

It looked like a good meet some lovely pics! Shame I was unable to make it however I would be so worried about wrapping my Scoob up going round a track and then being left with no car as insurance does not cover me for track days.

555_Si 10-08-2013 08:32 AM

Msvtphotography pics are finally up on their website.

Steve_PPP 10-08-2013 10:48 AM

Blimey, thats a lot of photos....

The Handbrake 10-08-2013 11:58 AM

Poor Charlie  awesome photos though :)

Banstead Stig 10-08-2013 11:59 AM

I know this is a Subaru forum, so there is a risk this will go down as well as a girl with jagged braces, but whose 205 is that? And what, if anything, has been done to it?

BIG"E" 10-08-2013 02:08 PM

Nice one Charlie

Martin H 10-08-2013 03:19 PM

This looked like so much fun but how do you get around the fact most insurance companies do not cover you for track days? My own insurance does not cover me for track days, I would love to have a go but would be too worried about crashing then being left with no car as the insurance company would not pay out, also how do you know what speeds or racing line you should follow on the various parts of the track any advice??

The Handbrake 10-08-2013 03:22 PM

Track day insurance is a separate daily cover. Keith Michaels will do it for a daily premium if you are insured with them.

There are others too like http://www.insuremytrackday.com http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/ etc etc

I will look in to that thank you :ok: any advice on how to know what speeds or racing line you should be doing on the various parts of the track?

555_Si 10-08-2013 04:13 PM

Go out with someone first to show you the lines and then master them yourself, or get an instructor to go with you.

Do you mean as a passenger in someones car? I would then properly go out with an instructor in the car with me until I felt confident to go on my own

555_Si 10-08-2013 05:41 PM

Added comments in other thread, get someone to take you out , then book a track day and book an instructor for a few laps, he will get rid of your bad habits and give you a good grounding knowledge.

There were only 20 of my car, which worked out at £60.... so i added 10 of Anger's so i had the 30 needed for £1 per pic.... bargain!

Angus... pm me your e-mail address (when you've finished your dirty weekend away) and i'll send them over if you haven't got them already.

Steve_PPP 11-08-2013 05:48 PM

Nice photos Gary, was a bit wet at first wasn't it! :)

Its one of those things you just have to decide on. I took out track cover for this trackday via Keith Michaels (cost £60) but I think its also got a £1500 excess, so you have to think its worth it depending on how much money you have tied up in the car :)

Just drive round gently and build your speed up slowly as you feel more confident and familiar with the circuit, keep a watch in your mirrors for fast moving folk etc,

Its not a race so all at your own pace.. :)
