The speed I drive probably not, looks nice though.

NL03Scooby 13-09-2015 06:51 PM

Good stuff Shane. I have pulled my whiteline arb and drop links from my damaged blue car only to discover they won't go on the black one as the black car has the traditional style drop links, not the 'C' shape ones!

You sure they won't fit

I am yet to match them up C.J, it is possible the roll bar will fit, all I remember is when I ordered it Whiteline have two different part numbers for the two arb's dependant on the style of drop link.

Post a pic of whats on the black one now.... C shape ones should be standard, just in plastic?

C. J. 13-09-2015 07:13 PM

If it's not a wide track it should fit

'C' shape was standard on my 2003 blue one, the 2004 black one has the ball and socket type on the rear, similar to the fronts.

The roll bar could still fit, I haven't tried to match it to what is currently on the car.

scotty 13-09-2015 07:24 PM

Nice one Shane should make it a bit more pointy!

The ball joint links are win win rob no need to change them for uprated jobbys they are solid (unlike the plastic C shaped ones on earlier cars that need swapping for metal ones ideally)

I knew the ball joint drop links are better then the 'C'shaped ones which is good, it's just a case of what to do with my fairly new 22mm arb...

Car died on me the other day just after leaving the in laws and refused to start although it coughed and spluttered a bit. Couldn't hear pump priming which seemed strange, after slamming the bonnet shut it fired up. New Fuel Pump fitted which then also refused to prime the fuel lines, much tracing of voltages showed no power getting to pump, managed to locate the pump relay and wiring (I'm going to ache tomorrow after contorting myself in the drivers footwell), shorted the pins which would usually switch the pump and everything sprang to life. Found that the switched 12V supply to the relay was good so relay became the main suspect. Connected relay direct to the battery and got it switching, must have been dirty relay contacts, all ok for now but going to replace it anyway.

Weather didn't help things yesterday

Depends how you define sex!

Red Baron 04-03-2016 03:03 PM

Well the rear brake lines have all been replaced thanks to JonnyRicer and Whiteline front drop links have just gone on so that's the MOT advisories taken care of along with a service, time for a good clean, polish and wax and then time to get it up for sale :(

scotty 06-04-2016 01:02 PM

Well ive got a mate looking for a classic so ive already let him know about yours if you decide to sell it shane .

Red Baron 06-04-2016 01:21 PM

It will be going, I'm just trying to delay the inevitable for as long as possible.

scotty 06-04-2016 01:35 PM

Neil97rs 07-04-2016 02:51 PM

Red Baron 07-04-2016 03:14 PM

Yep, was looking at a replacement for my Civic diesel daily.
Have a price in mind Scotty but struggling to find something with a similar mileage and condition to base it on.

scotty 07-04-2016 03:59 PM

I know, but if you are going to keep it...

Just having it to drive is probably more then enough now.

Red Baron 25-02-2017 11:57 AM

Looks good, like the red with the red.

Scott.T 25-02-2017 05:51 PM

Looking good.
If only it was that easy for everyone to get rid of a squeaky fat arse.

stonejedi 25-02-2017 05:54 PM

Looks Good:doubleup:,i don't really check for leathers in Subarus,BMW and Mercs maybe,i bet your not slipping and sliding off of your seat now when you are hitting those tight corners:cool:.SJ.

scotty 25-02-2017 07:40 PM

Those seats are tidy makes alot of difference looking good .

Red Baron 25-02-2017 08:04 PM

Should never have sold these really although the STI ones seem to sit a little lower which is handy

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4614/...bd02f548_c.jpg

These were a little on the slippy side but it did make it easier getting in and out

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4722/...0385be58_c.jpg

Steve_PPP 26-02-2017 08:57 AM

New ones are definitely an improvement on the leather :ok:

Red Baron 26-02-2017 02:41 PM

And another small job done today, changed the clutch fluid, horrible, 18 year old black stuff replaced with nice new Pagid DOT4, (cap says DOT3 but I'm sure it will be fine). May help with the stiffening clutch pedal when sat in traffic.
Next weekends job is power steering fluid as guess that is 18 years old as well and makes some interesting noises on full lock. Then it's gearbox and diff oil time along with a service, someone remind me why I kept it?

Bolesroor 26-02-2017 07:12 PM

"And another small job done today, changed the clutch fluid, horrible, 18 year old black stuff replaced with nice new Pagid DOT4, (cap says DOT3 but I'm sure it will be fine). May help with the stiffening clutch pedal when sat in traffic."

I had the same issue on Friday night travelling on the M25 from Guilford , loads of traffic, clutch stiffened up to the point I thought my left foot wasn't engaging with my brain.:-D

Red Baron 26-02-2017 08:16 PM

It's not too bad a job Steve, 12mm socket for the 2 intercooler bolts, a screwdriver for the hose clips, a 10mm spanner for the bleed nipple, a bit of hose and whatever receptacle you use to catch the old brake fluid balances nicely in the undertray. Hardest bit is getting the intercooler to throttle body hose back on again but as yours has the silicone STI one it's probably a lot easier.

Oh, and you'll need someone's left leg to pump the clutch pedal.
