boot seal prob

Today i opened my boot to finda large wet patch!! i took the carpet out and wheel cover to find that i had water half way up the spare wheel!! Was suprised there went no fishes inside!! took the seal off to find some rot was like a tear about 1-2mm, got some alu filler and built it up and sorted it out then used some hammerite, if i get more water in any ideas?? back lights have been sealed with mastik also spoiler fixings are sealed well, seems alot of water for a hole like that! cheers

The water pools at the bottom of the rear screen, with all the bloody rain we've had, yours wont be the only car with a wet boot. Somes times its worse if you park the car with its back end higher than the front.

Ive got a subaru boot liner in mine, stops everything else getting wet.

Sounds like somthing worth investing in!! i normally park rear lower being on a slope but today have the rear higher to see if anything changes if no joy i may stick the seal with tiger seal hopefully that should do the job!

The funny thing to stop my Bugeye leaking I now park it the other way around now with the boot higher

My blob eye used to leak from one of the seem joints where the panels are wealded together just to the side of the boot seal, just cleaned and dried the joint and then covered it with sealant both sides and its been fine ever since.
