OK so how do I rip a DVD for a Tablet

I used to use DVD43 decrypter and then pocketdvdencoder.exe to rip DVD onto my Archos. It worked well with the AVI files produced replayable on most media (Archos, Zen, Phone and even AVI's stored on USB harddisk/media centre).

But things have moved on and using the same on a Win7 laptop throws up an mencoder.exe error each time.

What are you guy's now using or is there a fix for Mencoder ?

Cheers

I was looking at this yesterday and found this:

Haven't tried it yet though.

hi mate,
i tried handbrake earlier when you load the dvd and then select preview the video is pixelated and the audio is irratic. that's when using either vlc or windows media as the viewer.

they play fine outside of the handbrake application.

This does allow me to convert a VOB DVD file to MP4 using the Video to Android option, but gives similar results to the above i.e pixels and poor noise.

Managed to get it to work using : http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/ to decrypt the BBC Top Gear DVD to hard disk. Then used Handbrake to convert to an M4V file, but remember to turn the default 'Chapter Markers' off otherwise you have the chapter numbers at the bottom of the video all the time.
