Help with wheels
Guys i am looking to eventually fit Brembos to my car but worried that the calipers are going to hit the inside of my wheels..
Is it correct that the the ET offset needed to clear brembos is 53???? Is anyone local ish with Brembos that i can just try my wheel on to see if mine will work?? |
It's the design of the wheel which determines it more, my old wheels won't clear as they have a dish design that goes in nearer the outside of the rim. I don't think looking at yours that they will clear, just my opinion.
Those p1 rims have been listed again I was offered, keeping an eye on them |
Not 53, as in oe newage 17" wheels won't fit. Something like et 45 spring to mind, have a look on rota wheels site, iirc they do wheels that clear brembos so check their et. But as said above it isn't just offset but also spoke design that determines caliper clearance

As chrisp says, its pretty much the wheel design that makes the difference.
You might find two different wheels, with the same offset - where one set fits, one doesn't. Remember the offset is only the difference between the centre line of the wheel, and the hub mounting surface. It doesn't consider anything like spoke design and clearance etc. |
The OE17 wRX wheels don't fit but obviously the OE Sti do, the main difference being the back of the spoke design.

P1 wheels in 17 or 18 inch dont clear, unless u get the newage sti version which is et46. but they may stick out on a classic, as not sure what width they are. et51 on an 8x18 inch rim is about as wide as you can go on a classic.
