Oil pressure switch is located just under/behind the alternator. This is a simple single crimp connection to the sensor. All this does is light the oil pressure light on the dash when the sensor reads low.

If it is a new engine though, I would want the oil pressure light working to be sure. Although saying that the oil pressure level at which it comes on to warn you is very low and TBH a damaging level. Better to have an aftermarket gauge i.e Prosport for about £45.

i was thinking of getting aftermarket gauges for most things but i dont want the pillors covered in them its not a new new engine just a different one from what i had 40k on the clock but can i still drive it for a few weeks untill i get gauges n stuff?

Is the wire just missing from the loom, or maybe cut back/snapped.

Is it a new/2nd hand loom aswell ?

One way to look at it..... If the light comes on the chances are your engines fooked anyway so what's the point?
