Focus ST Love Session

On Saturday, True Colours had another of our "Love Sessions". This time we attacked a Ford Focus ST.

Here's a couple of pics of the car before we started.

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...g/SG2_5174.jpg

We tried out a new Snowfoam gun for the first time which was the absolute nuts. Pics of the foam on the car will follow, when my fellow partner in grime posts them or send me them. But trust me, it was absolutely lush foam. Here's the gun we used.

After foam and a tango rinse and dry, it was clayed. We then masked up ready for polishing :polish:

We brought the car inside and started the polish while Martyn (RTWB) attacked the wheels.

Martyn gets very excited polishing wheels!

After a 2 stage polish, we went on to do a True Colours "Lady Jizz Glaze" followed by a True Colours "Man Phat Wax".

The end product was this.

These 2 interior pics are taken with the i-phone,

Just as an aside, check out the clarity of this i-phone picture, I was well impressed with this.

Very nice guys. Fantastic job!. Never ceases to amaze me what a good clay and polish does, really brings the paint back to life. :10:. As a side note, get those microfibre cloths off the floor :nono::lol:

Good old RTWB!

Steve_PPP 30-08-2011 11:59 AM

Great shine there. And yet another thread without a disturbing photo in one means or another! :ok:

Was chatting to Ron down at the Marina about having a go at this sort of machine polish, never done it before so not sure quite how difficult or easy it is.

worzel 30-08-2011 12:07 PM

This was my first time using a machine, it's always been a 1 man & 1 machine job for our sessions up to now, but now there's a second machine on the go, I got some on the job training on Saturday. It's not as easy as you may think actually, I thought it would be a breeze, the roof was hard work for sure. But we got there :ok:

Ron did all the tricky bits to be honest. I think it's a case of doing it the way I did for sure and not going mad.

This car with it's fresher paint made things easier too in fairness :polish:

spongebob 30-08-2011 01:05 PM

what machine you using??

WRX_Paul 30-08-2011 02:13 PM

Looks very nice mate, i have the same foam gun, its great!

Scooby_Greg 30-08-2011 06:23 PM

Now that's what I call clean! What did you use to do the wheels? They're spotless

Lucky 30-08-2011 06:43 PM

Blimey, that is some snow foam, it actually made it look like an alfa for a while!!

That was Martyns better halfs car, but you get to see the snowfoam using this lance head. I am waiting for the other pics taken of the ST being foamed. :ok:

Lucky 30-08-2011 06:54 PM

Lol, I love snow foaming, that's the same lance as I use, they are really cool. I love watching passers by looking confused as I spray the car white!! Those wheels look amazing. Really like the ST's.

Hi Greg
I am the Wheel Man :-)
5 Stage process

1st - I sprayed with True Colours Wheel Cleaner, Allow 5 minutes to penatrate. Agitate and work heavily solied areas with medium density wheel brush.
2nd - Jet wash off and dry
3rd - Apply True Colours Glaze and allow 10 minutes to cure then buff off.
4th - Apply True Colours Alloy Wheel sealant - Allow 5 minutes to dry then buff off
5th - Apply a 2nd coat of Sealant

You are looking at about 35 to 45 minutes per wheel.

The True Colours products are not currently available in the UK, but will be very soon

chrisp 30-08-2011 07:18 PM

Nice, I really need to do the same to my focus, left the dealership full of swirls

I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to car cleaning, but these shots look amazing - better than new, and now making me feel inadequate in my efforts. Nice job! Steve - just have to keep them like it now:)

ralliart didz 30-08-2011 07:21 PM

spot on guys.how much do you charge ? wicked pic of bumble bee worzel :ok:

Crowman 30-08-2011 07:37 PM

Greg, a man from our own heart.
We are obsessive too, nearly 4 hours for the wheels alone, and steve and Ron were working hard for about 11 hours on the bodywork.

Crowman 30-08-2011 07:42 PM

Didz
We are currently in the process of securing a product for the Uk.
We will also be offering a dent removal and window film service.
Not forgetting a professional photo shoot of your finished car if you so wish.

We will be announcing shortly the full details, which will include a very good introductory offer for our first 10 SES customers.

yeah agreed, those pics weren't up when I posted, never used one if honest, I love my 3M rotary, must get my detail pics up, do loads for the owner of a very well known clothing brand, some really nice rare stuff, I'm waiting to do his new merc sls,

worzel 31-08-2011 11:06 AM

Merc SLS, now your talking! :drive:

We had a little play with one in Germany this year, although I am pretty sure he was holding back quite a bit.

Also got a close look at one at Brands this year, when I had a pit pass for the British GT Championship. Awesome sounding beast

So you would recommend the 3M. We are looking to get another one

worzel 31-08-2011 11:10 AM

This is the SLS from Brands, racing alongside the Ferrari we were with for the day.

worzel 31-08-2011 11:41 AM

Simon Cowell does know how to spend and waste some money doesn't he. It's great for someone looking for a bargain though lol.

I will keep my eyes open for the Festool :ok:

spongebob 31-08-2011 11:59 AM

he certainly does knowing that he bought 3 brand new

Crowman 31-08-2011 12:35 PM

Mind you, i would do the same if i was minted like Mr Cowell.

Spongebob
Would love to see some of your handy work, get some pics up
We are somewhat novice, but i guess you have to start somewhere,:polish::yeah:

spongebob 31-08-2011 12:46 PM

true everyone starts somewhere, I've been Valeting for bout 14 yrs and had own business for 8, trouble is were so busy I can't find the time to detail, last range rover I did only had 4k on the clock and I put around 20hrs of machine work alone into it as the dealer had wrecked it, my Valeting contracts unfortunately have to come first,

Car looks swell. Ten out of ten for True Colours and their amazing staff!!!

I can see the advert now......Your valeting....carried out by the Tactical Mayhem Team!!!!!

"True Colours" somehow sounds better than "Tactical Mayhem Team" .......even though they are the same blokes!!

worzel 31-08-2011 06:55 PM

It only sounds better when they are attacking your car with polishers mate.
