OUCH!! wasn't expecting 4!
Popped into my local tyre place this morning as I suspected my two fronts are borderline. ALL 4 are knackered!! . Looking like either the teins or the decat will have to wait now :x.
Also puts pay to me taking it up to brands tomorrow, then coming down to Japbash as 3 are illeagal and new tyres wont be in until monday:sad:. Will still try to pop in but on foot!. After looking at all options and getting quotes, went back to Goodyears again as I got on with those. Pirelli P Zero's for anyones interest were £175 each. Plumped for Goodyear F1's at just over £600 for the 4. |
Didn't pay that much for AD08's

From where? And how much? Mine aren't being put on until Monday/Tuesday, so still time to shop around. |
It seems you can get things like these
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s322p...R18_95Y_XL_TL_ http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s322p...R18_95Y_XL_TL_ BUT, They are not fitted or balanced, so by the time I pay someone to fit/balance them, they are dearer. |
falken fk452? as good as the Goodyears & Pirellis imo, but much cheaper.....
|
Speak to tone and get a fitting price from him
|
I have these to get you by if needed
http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ead.php?t=8958 and I think cj has two pirelli's as well....there you are a years motoring for £100:five: |
Thanks Tim. I am on 235's now, so think I will bite the bullit and just get them sorted.
Its back to the drawing board anyway as the local place I always use have recommended Goodyear 'Efficientgrip' instead of F1 Assemetrics, and after reading reviews, there is no way that they will do the job!. They are more a fuel saving and comfortable tyre, so I will be trying to sort something else with them monday. Will get a quote on the Falkens too Steve Thanks. |
mmm...., see what you mean Steve. These falkens are £105 inc Vat.

done 2 x Ring trips and 2 x Brands evenings on them, plus about 15-20k of road miles and they're nearly down to the point of replacement. but pretty grippy for a mid-range tyre  |
Speak to maggs at ruislip tyres if your not too far away, I paid about a pound more than camskill could get the 452's for fitted and balanced
|
Going by what several peeps have said
these have to worth a try: http://www.clickontyres.com/Hankook/..._K110__XL__95Y Skullfudge rate these very highly so do camskills. |
As Steve has said, Falkens always good ggood reviews and good money.
Or those hankook's that Skullfudge rates. |
Asf in crowbough
|
If you could find at stock Federal RS-R595,but overall Falken or Hankook are good tyres for money.

Cheers Gary, I will look at those too. Think it will be between those and Falkens.

Well, had a right result in the end. Cancelled the goodyears and ended up getting Faulken 452's (cheers for the recommendation Steve:doubleup:).
Gotta say first impressions are excellent. I know they were always going to feel better than a set of worn out tyres but they have transformed the ride and seem pretty sticky when warmed up a bit. The other nice thing is they have a bit of a rub strip which will help protect the wheels. Not bad price either. They were £480 fitted/balanced etc, which is £120 cheaper than the goodyears were. The tyre place reckon they will give better grip than the goodyears, but wont last as long, which with my mileage isnt really an issue. Thanks for all the recommendations guys. |

And I wouldn't worry about the mileage, as I said in my last post - mine have done a fair amount and i haven't been soft on them! ;) |
