cold start
 
hi only had my standerd 03 subaru sti 62k for 6 weeks is there anyhing that i should know or do to help car start better in the cold mornings as i use it every day for work and last few days it takes about 10 secs to fire up,is that normal.It started fine before the cold nights/mornings.

make sure its got a good battery on it.mine started playing up last winter,so put on a higher crank one,instead of the crappy factory one.

be sure to get you alternator and starter checked too, any half decent garage will have the kit to do it properly.

Give it a min to prime fully - wait until the pump stops before starting

mines a classic, but I find mine starts quicker if I turn it over once, wait a few seconds, then turn it over properly and then it starts real quick

is it slow when it cranks? when was the last time you serviced it? a good set of plugs wouldn't be a bad idea :)

+1 i now wait for my airbag light to go out before turning it over and have no problems
