New dials

I've just bought and fitted a new speedo. I did have the yellow needle with the revs on the side. The new one is the red needle with the big rev counter in the middle with mph on the side. Checked it and everything is fine apart from the handbrake light and abs light stays on.
Any ideas on how to get them to go off?

Is it a DCCD version? If not the lights should go off, as its plug and play.

wonkey85 30-12-2011 11:21 PM

Nah not dccd. I got in contact with the bloke who sells and programmes the millage and he said to disconnect the battery for a while. Tried it and it didnt work :(

Have you tried with the old clocks in to see if both lights come on? Did you take the wheel of to fit them?

wonkey85 31-12-2011 10:05 AM

Yeah swapped em both about to check. Reason I swapped em was because the display buggerd up. Nah don't need to take off the steering wheel thankfully.

there can be a mis-match with ABS signals with new-age clocks...........generally you need to use the exact age to guarantee success.

Thanks for that Jura. Basically found out it is working in reverse=
Light on abs good
Light of then I have an issue
No one has a cure for it other then taping over the front of the light
I'm gonna see if I can remove a bulb or break the circuit from inside.
Way I see it of you rely on a light to tell you there's something up with your breaks then you shouldn't be let near a car. Hahaah

bear in mind that technically the light should correctly work to allow the car to pass an MOT.....
