bugeyewrxnath 05-01-2012 07:02 PM

also where can i get some blue wing relectors and morette head lights from many thanks i no i sound some a pain in the arse lol looked at members cars and they are amazing hope to come to a meet

Steve_PPP 05-01-2012 07:35 PM

Welcome to SES

Why not spray the wing markers yourself? Just sand the raise letters down first, pretty easy to do :)

Lucky 05-01-2012 07:39 PM

Welcome to SES! You will see some very nice bug's on here. Firstly, 200 miles isn't far out, if you are only driving the car around town. If you are out on longer runs with it then it should be doing more like 250 i would think. I tend to get 220 miles to a tank (£70) around town but a 2.5 with 6 speed.

No cats is a good way to go if you want to free up all of the performance. You will need a remap though. No real problems, just keep it serviced, check the cam belt has been done and warm it up and cool it down before giving it the beans.

For morettes etc, keep an eye on ebay and worth looking on scoobynet as alot of parts come up on there.

Be good to see you at a meet, keep an eye on the meets section, we are a friendly bunch.

thats great thanks very much how much is a remap and my exhaust came with a silencer incert for rear box is this safe to use with the engine back pressure thanks

wonkey85 05-01-2012 09:14 PM

:wwelcome: nice to see another bug. (were taking over slowly :) )
200miles sounds about right that's roughly what I'm getting in mine driving round town
I agree with steveppp that's got to be the quickest cheapest way of doing it.

bugeyewrxnath 05-01-2012 09:23 PM

cool i was shocked as anything when i saw im geting 200 miles to a tank thought i had broken it lol especaily as its my every day car do you ever get a engine man light up when you give it a bit of welly for cam shaft sensor iv had to buy a diognostic machine to turn it off when i drive it hard

Nige 05-01-2012 09:50 PM

Don't drive hard untill you have check what the light is for:wagon:

wonkey85 05-01-2012 10:02 PM

Yeah. Bugs are sensitive to misfires I did it within 20 min of buying. The way to get it off is start the car run for a few secs turnoff for a few secs. On the fourth time of starting the light should go out. But defiantly get a dionstics done for peace of mind and a general health check. Don't cost much either. :)

wonkey85 05-01-2012 10:03 PM

Sorry I speed read that didn't realise you had the machine lol :s

bugeyewrxnath 05-01-2012 10:08 PM

yea it just says its cam shaft sensor but only comes on at 6000rpm

What I done was a dyno test which obviously told me the bhp and lb. but I found out my max revs were 5750 before drop off anything more put stress on the engine. Since then mines never misfired. (I'm very anal about the health and how my car runs lol)
Not saying its what you should do but it's just some ideas. :)

Steve_PPP 05-01-2012 10:53 PM

Yep, get the CEL come on fairly regularly if i go near the limiter on boost. Bugeyes are known for being a bit on the sensitive side ;)

Let it cool down, then switch the engine on/off 4 times and it clears the light.

Oh, and get some pics up :)

Gavsti555 05-01-2012 11:49 PM

Christ I am getting between 240-270 miles per tank which when I worked it out over a period of about 8-10 weeks ranged between 21-26.5 mpg

If your exhaust is a full system and de-catted and you've not had the car re-mapped you are asking for an expensive bill! It may be fine but there's every chance you may end up blowing the engine.

Mine was running 275 with a sports cat 3' system and air filter swap, I also had the fuel pump replaced/uprated for piece of mind.

Howdy

Jolly Green Monster 06-01-2012 10:18 AM

Needs mapping for the exhaust definitely.

Not revving past an rpm because it has issue higher up is also stupid imho.
It might have issues lower but not enough to trigger the cel light.

Simon

bugeyewrxnath 06-01-2012 05:00 PM

Thanks for the feed back il get it remapped beginning of feb then cus I want to keep the engine as good as can be wiv no expensive bills

bugeyewrxnath 06-01-2012 07:01 PM

Also 1 more thing thing sorry I'm new to subarus once my car has a remap with the full decat fitted will my engine be safe and don't have to worry bout it causing damage thanks again all

SpecB 06-01-2012 07:27 PM

Give Simon (JGM above) a message he'll be able to map the car so it's safe with the existing mods, however any future changes may mean the map needs checking/tweaking.

bugeyewrxnath 06-01-2012 08:39 PM
