Not firing

After a few running issues on the Classic, we checked all the coil packs, one had fallen apart, replaced that.

Checked all pipes, the solnoid was all plumbed in wrong. Sorted that all out.

But now the turns over fine, but wont fire? Any ideas..

yep, behind the oil filler. Single connector and held in with a single bolt. You could prob try the one from the bug in it.

Steve_PPP 05-01-2012 10:49 PM

When did you get a classic Nick????

Crowman 05-01-2012 10:54 PM

Oh come on steve , keep up

Mortster 05-01-2012 11:32 PM

Ah yes, great idea. I'll try that tomorrow. You only really notice how diffrent the engine bays are when you have them side by side.

:hbags:

I'd noticed Nick buying bits for a classic a few weeks back but assumed it was for a friend or something as I'd not seen a thread about another car.

Maybe I'll just go back to sleep!

Crowman 06-01-2012 01:26 PM

It's a wrx sti type r ra v ltd ver 6.5 with an upright 4 triple valve per trumpet quad low lift cams , full dedog exhaust , 8 pot brake shoes , updated rubber leaf springs

Mortster 06-01-2012 08:31 PM

lol..its not all hush, just a L reg Jap Import, to mess about with.

Checked the sensors today, took them out, wiped the crap off them. Started!! And with the solnoid plumbed in right, went like a rocket ship.

Parked up, wouldnt start again.

Stuck my head under the dash, and it sounds like theres a relay going nuts on ignition?

Crowman 06-01-2012 09:23 PM

Sounds like possible fuel pump , where's the relay mate

Mortster 06-01-2012 09:28 PM

Sounds like one near the fuse box, up under the dash.

Crowman 06-01-2012 10:05 PM

Mmm not sure, but have seen your symptom. As fuel pump.
See if JGM or Scott can throw any ideas in the pot

Scott.T 06-01-2012 10:56 PM

Check the ECU, open it up and see if it's chipped.
Sometimes if the chip or adaptor board is faulty or not seated right it can cause all sorts of clicky noises and dash lights go mad.
it could though be the ECU, but early ones are quite cheap and easily re-sellable on ebay.
I used to always have a few kicking around but don't anymore.
