Wide Type R

On an initial look this strikes you as a cracking car :
http://bbs.scoobynet.com/subaru-444/...ed-type-r.html

But reading the spec again and having a closer look at the pictures....who's he kidding. Did he view it in the dark and decide to sell once he saw it in daylight.

400 hours in the bodyshop !!!
Wings don't match doors
Boot doesn't match rear wings
Bottom of bumper/front splitter doesn't match bumper
Bonnet doesn't align with wing or grill

Shame as it would be one hell of a car if just a little extra attention to detail had been made...,,,,

Crowman 01-02-2012 08:47 PM

Yep saw this. Kit fitting of this kind has to be done by real specialists, otherwise it looks like a dogs dinner

Anger 01-02-2012 09:51 PM

Mark has had more Scoobs than ive had baths haha think he is in the 80+ region

Krissyb 01-02-2012 09:52 PM

It does look nice

Gavsti555 01-02-2012 10:19 PM

If you sqwint it's ok lol

Anger 01-02-2012 10:36 PM

I bet the colour matches... If you look at Adrian's 22b at different angles the colour looks like it doesn't match, but it's still factory paint

Anger 01-02-2012 11:23 PM

Look at the add on 22b... The colour is all matching ;)

ralliart didz 02-02-2012 01:47 AM

thats sweet

Hongkongfooi 02-02-2012 08:25 AM

That's very nice:agreed:

Anger 02-02-2012 08:31 AM

Look at his new toy on SN... He has a 22b aswell

Steve_PPP 02-02-2012 08:32 AM

I like it, but i also agree with Scott - some parts just look wrong. The front bumper area especially, it really needs a wide bumper/splitter too as the front sides of the tyres look like their exposed to much in the pics.

simba 02-02-2012 09:21 AM

nice motor !

RobEvo5 02-02-2012 09:21 AM

Was looking at this, and Bigfud puts me to shame with the amount of cars he gets through.

I think I done a deal with him on my White Evo7 for his cheap black classic at the time.

There is also a nice white wide bodied one up for sale with a forged 2.5 ltr. for £8995. If that one had had a 6 speed in it, I would have been very tempted.

BigFuds does look mint though, and from I have seen he only get nice examples. The 450bhp blob he had previous to this was nice and tempting as well.

tbtstt 02-02-2012 09:29 AM

I agree that some of the finer details don't quite tie up and there are certainly a few things I would tweak with it - plus the colour isn't my first choice for a wide arch classic - but I still think it looks good.

As has been said, given the number of Scoobs Fud has had I would think its a good 'un!

riiidaa 02-02-2012 11:41 AM

It's far from a dogs dinner, but there are things I'd alter, and it's not worth £8.5k imo

agreed, and thats what owning scoobs and the like is about. we all either want to make them our own in some way with some form of modification, or we keep them as true to the original manufacturers spec/condition as possible.

I dont think the car looks too bad TBH, although I wouldnt pay that much for it !

Anger 02-02-2012 12:25 PM

He already has a que to buy... His replacement is a porker 998 tt

Scott.T 02-02-2012 12:38 PM

I gotta be honest and say if a good Wide bodied scoob turned up for the right price and spec I would be tempted to trade the Hawk.

I wouldn't want a 22B though as I would want to play with it rather then keep it standard.
I wouldn't even want a Blue wide bodied type as as it would just look like a 22B wann-be.

I did like the white type R, ally arched, seam welded, STi V that RCM had for sale many years ago, we all know what happened to that.......

Are you missing the classic Scott?

Tomma 02-02-2012 01:13 PM

that's a very nice looking car but the front o/s wing doesn't look like its sitting right in the door/windscreen area!?

RobEvo5 02-02-2012 02:53 PM

If this was a few K cheaper I would have this one

Looks very hard, without being OTT. And performance and attention to detail to match......

Nah!!!! don't like those arches. OK on a Mini but not a Scoob (sorry JGM).

Steve_PPP 02-02-2012 10:09 PM

All down to personal taste mate

Seen them on Mags' car and they look cool too. That style of arch would look shocking on a newage, but i think it looks really moody on an aggressively styled classic like that.

subaruian 02-02-2012 11:19 PM

hes dropped the price on that one :norty:

I think it looks pretty sweet , but agreed bonnet to grill does look gash.
Plus i think the wheels would look better in gloss black.

(Agree that I think its a lot of money though)

Yeah, I can't see it working on a newage, but then I used to say the same thing about them on a classic until I saw this car...

...and my opinion was instantly changed!

Did anyone happen to see the white Type R in last months Total Impreza? That was a pretty much perfect Type R in my opinion (apart from not being blue that is! ;)).

Steve_PPP 03-02-2012 09:11 AM

Yep, that ones a monster mate

Noticed you had posted on the thread ;) - Last price seems to be 13.5K. If the price ever got close to 10K I think I would be knocking on his door.

I keep looking as I'm in the market right now for a new toy, but currently giving serious considering to a self build project and doing a low pressure Greddy turbo'd S2000. 300rwhp.

Believe me the one big fud was selling (sold now) is the minted paintwork wise you are likely to see, its just the camera angle and angles of the panels.

Brad Wrx 06-02-2012 09:52 AM

that looked brilliant to me

Nige 06-02-2012 10:48 AM

Love the look of classics with the arches on. On one of Skullfudges pics of P2 he has the screw holes filled in & that looked even better. :EVO:
