F.A.O. Cath / anyone else with black diamond pads

Did anyone else have issues with their classic sounding like it had clickety clackers after having a set of balck diamond predators put on? I've found that theres a fair bit of movement in these pads, in that they're flat against the discs all the time but you can move them up and down maybe 5mm in total. Its the same on both sides so its unlikely to be by fluke.

I've been told to give it a little time then as some brake dust and other crap accumulates around the pads the noise will gradually go away. I'm so anal about squeaks and rattles though and its absolutely doing my head in. :boom:

Turning the music up is not an option so i'll nip that in the bud before anyone tries that

I know this may not be that helpful but i had black diamond disc a little while ago and was so not impressed with them!!

I know drilled and grooved make a sound of air pulsing through the vents when braking but they were dreadful and they warped, and no i wasn't heavy on them!!!!

I have read on other forums that black diamond should be steered clear of due to the parts not meeting the standards required!!

Not heard good reports mate.
To try and be helpfull, all i can sugest is plenty of copper ease on the pad guides, this will stop them chattering about.
I had some pagids which rattled a little until i put a glittle copper ease on the guides/slides

Are they 2 or 4pots?

I've only got black diamond pads, my old discs were ok so have stuck with them. The backs of the pads are caked in copper grease like it was going out of fashion.
The cars got 4 pots. Annoying thing is that i'm quite impressed with the pads, they do stop me well. The just move around inside the caliper. I'm not sure if i've described the movement of the pad explaining the clatter very well, heres a picture (old photo so disregard the yellow stuffs):

So the pads move from side to side in the direction of the arrows.

Right, have just been outside with a torch to have a little look. Either, the holes on the pads are elongated or the retaining pins are worn. So, i'll take a pin out to see if its worn, or i'll stuff something in the holes to pack them out.
