decat advice needed

On Monday I was due to have a decat up pipe and fast flow down pipe and map tweak. Well Neil @slowboy phoned me yesterday and said his supplier is out of stock in sports cats and so he is going to totally decat the down pipe. Now my questions are apart from the legality side of it. 1) Will it be smelly. 2) Will it be louder. 3) How will he deal with the lambda sensor so I don't have lights on in car. Has anyone on here decatted up and down pipes please advise me

I don't notice mine, been running full decat since I've had the car. You just need a friendly mot centre and not worry about it :)

if your changing the turbo down the way slightly then personally i wouldn't bother doing the up-pipe at this time, simply change when you fit the STi turbo..........

I have already had a remap done by slowboy and the boost was raised to 1.3 bar. I must say the difference was quite outstanding right the way thru the range. I have been told that this was the greatest improvement I will get and decatting would not greatly improve performance from what I am getting now. I think that the turbo change later on would be the next step altho spool up would be slower. I am a little concerned about decatting as car is built to have a CAT but I also know that they can be restrictive
