The second one has a twin scroll up-pipe. Why don't you get an RCM one it'll last that way. I have one on mine and it's really really good.

On second glance it's just me being a dunce both are single scroll.

Why are you wanting to change the headers is there much need unless going for big power eventually .

Both of the ones you are looking at are equal length headers just in case you didnt notice.

Must be un equal for the flat 4 burble IMO.

Laterial / rcm three bolt headers are the only choice for quality if it were me

A lot depends on budget/spec.

Under 400 BHP go for Harvey ported headers with a matched up-pipe for your turbo Jaffa also does a good job of porting headers (not sure if he ports the collectors though) but does not do the Up-Pipes (as far as I know).

Over 400 then look at the 3 bolt headers (GT Spec) either from RCM, Lateral or Advanced Automotives Harvey can also supply these with a custom matched Up-Pipe which will iprove both spool and torque over the std Up-Pipe (also at a good proce and DEI heat wrapped).

One other option which I keep toying with is a set of 2 bolt up-pipe tubular headers from Williams Motorsport (Andy built my engine) purely because they are so much cheaper (Around £200) eBay Link

I know the 2 bolt up-pipe can cause issues but you could almost buy 3 sets for one set of RCM/Lateral!

For the power i want RCM one is not worth it as i am running a standard STI 3 gearbox and a TD05 18g..

My exhaust manifold is leaking at the sleeved piece where there are supposed to be sprigs pulling them together.

Would love to spen that sort of money but i can not really afford them and as i am only running a TD05 18g i will not be running big power at all.

That is more of a price i am willing to pay, i wont be chasing big power as i have a standard STi 3 box and TD05 18g, would like to be chasing big power but just can not afford it, is that a Andy motorsports manifold?? On his stuff he normally puts his logo on top of the page, i have brought some stuff off him before, he is a very nice guy..

If your only using a 18g just us oe & the porting makes very little differents

Tyler 02-04-2012 11:29 AM

Cheers CJ, only reason why i was going to use another set was because Simon advised that tourque figures are noticably lower on standard headers..

If you got tubular get three bolt or don't bother . The choice is yours though
