Can't wait for the update Phil:ok:
A good clean really does bring up the defects that get covered by some of the products people use on their cars. Proper hot one today, so very wise not to hit it too hard today:polish: |
i know the claybar actually melted in the sun,
hoping to get part 2 under way in day or 2 time, brain telling me to finnish it |
Can tell you used fairy mate:smile:
Was going to buff the one earlier aswell... Decided it was to hot also ended up in garden beer in hand BBQ blazing... Car can wait. |
I use washing up liquid sometimes, don't normally use it when I use snow foam but then I have 2 different types lol the swirls don't look too bad but the difference afterwords looks like its gonna be amazing, keep us posted mate :-)

Amazes me why people do it? you effectivly add a depth defect by doing so!! A safer way is to set up a camera and take photos as you go along.... befores/durings and afters...... ............ Great work Phil, looks like you getting a great result:five: better to take your time and get it right, than rush and balls it up......... |
thanks to your wisdom, its looking like this ron:five:

No! As you know, paint depth readings are an average of numerous readings taken over the worked area. You therefore cannot 'level' the finish! It would be unwise to do so.
Working on the principal that you should only remove the bare minimum necessary to correct or enhance a finish, good technique and sufficient paint readings across a worked area mean you only work any given area as is needed to get the desired result.... The difference between normal passes and cutting a 'line' is a huge difference, your right though that there's lots of people out there that set up and work 50/50 shots! And go on to end up with a great looking finish but! Everyone should be looking to provide the best finish whilst not reducing the paint finishes to do so. You know yourself that there's plenty of techniques and tricks out there , so long as there's as little degradation of the paint finish whilst doing the work, then alls good. Next car you get that has fairly equal readings on opposite panels, say both rear quarters, take some readings after a normal correction and a 50/50;) you'll be surprised:ok: Don't forget to IPA prior to taking the readings. Well have to get together and throw some ideas about over a beer sometime:ok: Sorry Phil, we've gone a bit OCD:lol: |
not an update,
just back from walk with jd and notice a mark on drivers side quater and it wasnt their before hand and no 1 around. http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/a...025/003-15.jpg http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/a...025/002-14.jpg http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/a...025/001-16.jpg |
