Hose pipe ban lifted!!!!!????
Oh no it ****ing isn't!
Southern Water have lifted theirs, and rightly so. But South East Water Haven't. If you are in the same boat as me, Southern Water supply my drainage and sewer, with South East Water supplying my water, so I am still being royally ****ed. I am actually too angry to write much, because it could get nasty (the problem with being an Admin, you have to "behave" ) But I'm sure that some of you in the same kind of position can say the things I really want to :five: The swear filter could be working overtime today  |
Best tell Ian !

I saw Ian's post and assumed they'd all follow suit and do the same thing.

I've just checked my bills as I couldn't remember which one I was, but I've just found out I'm Southern Water!!! Happy days!! Lots of cleaning tomo if it's not blooming raining again!
|
Reservoirs full, with water running out of the overflows:roll: surely something wrong:doh:
:wa: the lot of them  Don't get me started!!! it grips my ****e!!! |
The biggest bloody annoyance for me is, while I do understand the fact we have had 2 dry winters, we didn't before this. And because the water companies do not invest in their infrastructure, when the winters were wet, the stuff just ran away out to sea, instead of being stored. They are the ones that WASTE the water, we pay for it and don't get to use it.
One question for you all. We have all been told that we can't use water, so we don't. Have your water bills been reduced to reflect this? :nono: Greedy ****ing wasters! :shark: |
I'm ignoring this thread, can feel stress level rising
Un feckin real I'm going outside to run the hose down the garden and turn on full for the next week , want to use what I pay for |
They say that the billing is for supply of paletable water and being able to wash a car or water the garden isnt charged for!!! its a sort of freebie!!!
What they fail to understand is that we in effect 'hire' our water from them!! they supply it, we use it and they take it away or collect it as its recovered.... allowing for a small lose.. we in effect return the water we use!!! SO HOW IS THERE A ****ING SHORTAGE........... |
Basically mate, because they are useless cnuts
|
****s,****ers, mother ****ing tossers, assholes = can you guess who supplies mine also

. my water supplyer is.............................Southern Water. escort is getting a clean with the hose at the weekend even if its fooking raining  |
I totally agree with you guys, I work for sutton and east Surrey water as most of you know, and I still can't use a hose pipe to wash the scoob, what make it worse is that when we had all those floods the other day and all the flood warnings I live virtually 2 min from 2 of the rivers that were on red alert and at least 10 houses 5 mins from where I live we're completely flooded, they even closed one of the lanes where I live because the entire road was under 2 1/2 feet of water.
But basically to answer people's questions, the area where the bans have been lifted are areas where they use resovoirs which are pretty much full. The areas where the ban hasn't been lifted are the areas where they rely on boreholes and ground water supply's wich are still no where near full. If things carry on the way they are with the rain then there's a chance they could lift the ban by winter but that'll be the earliest I'm affraid. |
Problems to do with how the water gets to where ever its sued, if its an underground style reservoir the water has to filter through the ground etc, which only has a limited drainage rate, the rest just rolls of the top and that is the flooding.
That being said, they are thieving bar stewards as they charge a flat amount monthly and yet using less to clean cars etc should mean bill is reduced... |
Andy, I feel for you mate, really I do. You must be fed up hearing about this
This is where the lack of infrastructure investment really shows. The water that we have had recently obviously can't all drain down into the boreholes, it just couldn't get through the earth and layers quick enough and will drain off. But why don't water companies invest in finding a way of pumping directly into them? Surely there must be a way? To watch peoples houses in this area being pumped out and the local rivers being on flood alert in June and then to be told, "sorry, you still can't use a hose, there's not enough water" really is unbelievable in this day and age. The fact we have reservoirs overflowing and leaking locally too is simply mind blowing, yet the likes of you and I can't use a Karcher? Please don't take any of this personally mate, you know none of its aimed in your direction :five: , but the water companies really shouldn't be able to fob us off like this. :nono: |

Its all about business though isn't it. Why spend their profits to invest in the future when they can bank the cash, then screw the customer if they have a drought instead! |
Exactly as Worzel says. Nothing personal Andy
Your a small cog of a very large rusty wheel . |
What I don't understand is why they can't build the infrastructure to share supplies as they do in other European countries.

so i can wash my car now yip ye,just a shame ive not got one
|
You could wash mine Didz
|
There was a test on Pistonheads the other day.... it takes 6 times MORE water rinsing your car with a bucket/watering can than using a pressure washer.
I can understand the ban for a non-stop flowing hosepipe, but with a spray gun or pressure wash i can't understand the logic. |

Washing the car really doesn't use much at all. Watering the garden (especially the grass) does use a lot, so I do understand that. It's just crazy stuff really :cuckoo: |
