re attaching spoiler

hi all my sti bootlid is due back this week and ready to fit saturday, i took the spoiler off to make life easier, when i put it back on the lid will i need some mastic/tigerseal?? the rubber gromets are still here but dont look enough to stop the water getting in whats your thoughts??

The only way the water can get in is through the bolt holes. The thin rubber washers will do the job assuming none of them are folded/crushed and you bolt it down evenly.

The STI spoilers are notorious for leaking but i've not used any sealant and mines been fine after re-fitting (maybe i just got lucky). I'd fit it and then use a hose to see if anything leaks - and tackle that if you need to.

I wouldn't personally use tigerseal, you'll never get it off without ripping half the paint off with it.

I'd get some of the trim tape (think mines was 3m) it's double sided closed cell foam and make washers from it around each hole. I also used a double washer around the wire hole.

Same kind of stuff but wider and on a roll, Halfords sell a Duck Tape version I think. I used a hole punch to make the bolt holes and just cut squares from the roll. Stuck them to the boot then removed the top tape and dropped the spoiler on
