Silversurfer posted this not long ago, can't remember what thread it was though. I remember him saying for a newage to have the same power to weight ratio as his classic (330bhp) it would need 400 there abouts.

seems alot power to weight wise? someone said that the weight of a newage is 100kg lighter than an m3 which seems wrong having owned a 330 ci msport i couldnt push the motor on my own where as my blob is a breeze to push! the doors on beemers weigh a ton on there own! almost smashed the glass on the scoob closing the door lol, just looking to see if there is unessesary weight that i can take out!!

to save weight, A/C Delete, lose the front or rear speakers, or both and the radio, lose the rear spoiler, go for manual mirrors if you have electric (Not sure if manual are available on newage) and finaly, tell the mrs to take a bus.

There is about 200kg difference between classic and newage STi

A fair amount of that may be down to wiring, if you want all the extra toys you get in new cars you need a lot of copper to connect it all together. I know Subaru aren't re-known for their creature comforts but all the safety feature like air bags and the associated electronics all add to the cars weight.

Cheapest and easiest way to decrease the weight is put the driver on a diet, if I did that I could knock 2 seconds off my 0-60 time :-)

Newage STi's are heavier than WRX's

just found out the sti spoiler weighs a fair bit havin just put one on!! almost took me bumper off closing boot , ac delete is in mind and the missis does catch a bus she could do with a walk ideally!!, in all fairness for a road worthy car there aint alot i can do! i think c.j has the right idea! os there airbags in the seats?? if so are they easy to do away with??

6spd alone puts a lump in................

But at least the 6 speed doesn't leave bits of itself all over the road!
