South East Scoobies - British Drift Championship R4 2013

The British Drift Championship dropped into Lydden a couple of weekends ago and, having never been to a BDC round before – and after missing its visit to Lydden earlier in the year – I thought I’d give it a go.

The BDC run three classes; Semi-Pro, Pro and Super Pro. I thought “Semi-Pro” was a polite way of saying “beginner”, but I was wrong: the Semi-Pro guys were making some seriously mental entries into the first set of corners.

…I don’t think there was a single car in the Super Pro class that didn’t have an engine transplant (or in excess of 600 BHP).

Have to say I found it a much more enjoyable event than the Drift AllStars rounds I’ve been to in the past. Although the AllStars events were good, they seemed disorganised and drawn out. The BDC had a lot more cars involved and didn’t waste any time getting them going or pausing between battles, which was a lot better for spectating. :nod:

Will definately be checking it out again next year!
