sti inlet onto wrx - talk to me

right had it recommended to go for an sti inlet on my wrx and delete the tgv's when i fit my other components and car is mapped. now will any newage sti inlet suffice or do i need to obtain a specific sti inlet?? are any mods required if i pick up a uk sti inlet?? i.e. tgv's deleting?

also is there any benefit in fitting a thermal gasket when swapping??

oh its a '05 blobeye wrx and other mods will be
andy forrest hybrid td04 AFTD04H
full 2.5" turbo back decat exhaust
decat uppipe
pipercross panel filter
sti pink injectors
255 fuel pump
TMIC y piece upgrade
3 port boost soleniod
new plugs

hi mate i dont now about the inlet but the gaskets are worth it as it stops heat transfer but if you havent already i think of a front mount

i think the sti 7 and 8 inlets will fit, also worth changing turbo inlet hose at same time as it is a pig to do afterwards, as i found out. the rubber gets perished around turbo with age, i changed mine to a japspeed silicon one.

i git an inlet with injectors, loom and evrything already in, but you can use the wrx loom fine. just becareful and make sure you have all the electrical connectors undone. i didn't move the aircon pump i think it was on mine and it was a bit of a pig to do.

how come you're not going. bigger turbo, you after smooth boost? are pinks needed?

Pinks aren't needed for the td04 & I wouldn't bothers with the tumbler deletes at that level .
Stick the turbo on , exhaust and go for the remapp .

The STI inlet manifold is exactly the same as as WRX barring the paint, I think the STIs have the tumbler deletes where as the WRXs have the tumblers however this is a separate component that sits between the manifold and the heads. The only really different inlet is the spec C that is a one piece unit, these are considered better but not by much compared to a full tumbler delete, the issue is that spec c's use different fuel rails.

Jdm inlet is no better than a uk
