Could be looking for a new Subaru soon all depends on this training the Libyan army down in bassingbourne .

Mortster 14-01-2014 03:52 PM

I thought you were getting yours all mapped up?

scotty 14-01-2014 04:14 PM

I was but the amount of money I will spend on it to buy the parts fit them and fix the damage and respray its cheaper for me to buy another Subaru .

scotty 12-02-2014 12:00 PM

Looks like I'm going to be looking for another classic as mine has done a 133000 miles on the same engine and spoke to Alan Jeffrey from engine tuner and would defo need a full engine rebuild but a lot of money so been surfing the net and found a nice mica blue classic in Carluke with full service history , just had all brake discs and pads on four corners , clutch replaced 1500 miles ago and has 76000 on the clock I think I'm going to view the car .

It is a gleaming example of a wagon but it's just not for me at the moment .

Already found a nice mica blue classic that I'm going to have to look at in the flesh and I will be stripping all the parts and replacing them with the original parts that I have keep then getting rid of it cheap as it's good for a project as it needs some body Work done to it .

Scott.T 12-02-2014 07:53 PM

Cheers Scott forgot about them but I think they will need a lot of work done to them before I could get them fitted .

£80 per corner to get them rebuilt.

scotty 12-02-2014 08:30 PM

Is that for the old ones that look like struts with the holes round the top where the spring sits and where from Scott .

scotty 14-02-2014 08:30 AM

Just been on the internet and found a blue type r for sale at a garage down the road from me I've got to go and have a look and take some pics be back soon and it's only got 83000 miles on it and they only want £5000 .

scotty 14-02-2014 09:57 AM

Opened the boot had a look at the bottom rear window sill no rust because its a jap import I need to find £5000 I WANT IT .

Red Baron 14-02-2014 10:30 AM

Looks good, any sign of a remap?

scotty 14-02-2014 10:42 AM

didn't see any paperwork in the glove box apart from the jap manual and kenwood stereo manual . Are you still after a apexi power fc .

Red Baron 14-02-2014 10:51 AM

Do you know if it's been in the country long?

Still interested in one if the price is right, don't seem to be many around for the 99/00 and it's the only option without going ECUTEK or Syvecs. There was one on ScabbyNet the other day but he was asking top whack without the commander, I'm not going to pay over the odds for one, I'd rather wait. Would like to go down the Power FC route as Scott knows his way around them and lives round the corner from me.

Shane

scotty 14-02-2014 11:14 AM

don't know how long its been in the country for but the guy I spoke to doesn't know how to price a type r as that is a bargain I think and £350 for one up here with the commander but I think its for a v3/v4 shane which is a good price .

Red Baron 14-02-2014 11:40 AM

Type R looks really clean, wish my arches were like that, haven't looked at prices to see what they're worth.

Power FC is a good price but needs to be for a V5/V6 :-(

scotty 14-02-2014 11:56 AM

Haven't seen one for sale yet for a v5/v6 but still looking for you . Some of the type r's are ranging from 5-6 grand at the moment so is a good price I'm just wondering how long it will sit there for .

It does look nice, but you may want to see it in the dry to make sure the paintwork is in order.

Hard to tell when a car is wet like that.

Hope it is a good 'un though, as it does appear to be a nice car for the money.

Matt23 14-02-2014 02:50 PM

Looks very nice Scott, good choice mate. :yeah:

Ginola 14-02-2014 03:04 PM

I do love a nice type R :)

Good luck scotty :) take a look in the dry before you buy!

scotty 14-02-2014 08:21 PM

Don't think I can afford to buy it at the moment unless I get a loan but I don't want to go down that route I will just save for now atleast I know how much I need to save for a good classic .

It's ice on the car bloody freezing my car sounded funny this morning as it hadn't been started for a week as been away so lifted bonnet just the belts
so took it for a run and sounds a lot better .

Banstead Stig 14-02-2014 10:48 PM

Funnily enough, I looked again after posting and realised it was ice all over... initially I thought it was only the roof that was frozen.

Even more reason to check it over again, although not if you aren't going to buy... just in case it is flawless!!

scotty 19-02-2014 06:59 PM

I just cant part with the my classic so going to get it sorted replace some parts and give it to the wife and going to save at the same time for a type r for my Christmas .
